i have a 7pin connector. i did try this before with a vista OS it worked but recently i changed the OS to Windows XP version 2002. now when i connect the S-Video from the laptop to the TV nothing is comming up on the TV. i checked a website that said that i should press the keys Fn + F8 from my dell laptop to start viewing the laptop pictures on my TV. but nothing worked.
can someone please help me.

Yes, try changing the input on your TV...it may say Video 1 or Video 2 when you change the input. Also, on my dell I have to hit the Fn button then f8, which I believe says 'LCD/CRT.' That should do it.

The Fn key should have blue font, it's either f7,8, or 9, cant remember - this is assuming you have a rather new Dell model.

Hi. Just a thought. Does your TV need to changed to a new input? Was it on cable?
