The brand is not as important as the company that stands behind it. I've always purchased my appliances at Sears because they have their own service department and they are reliable. They sell several brands now and will service all of them.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer last year. The front load kind. I love them so much that a few months ago I completely replaced all my kitchen appliances with LG. Life really is good with LG. And the price is very reasonable.

I love my Whirlpool Cabrio set - they are expensive. But having teenagers that change several times a day and several towels when bathing. I don't have to wash every day any more since These things will do about 3 normal loads at a time. Yes the clothes do come clean and dry.

Whirlpool Duet Series of washers and dryers are great. LG makes a great steam washer also.
