For a little bit of insight to the type of person it was that was getting sentenced he was found guilty of,
false imprisonment and kidnap of his ex girlfiend who he kept tied up in the back of his van for 3 days, charged with incestual rape of his 12 year old sister who had his child after finding out she was pregnant at 6 months, and violently attacking another ex and throttling her till she past out.

Where to begin? Parole is supposed to be time off for good behavior and that kind of thing. So if the person behaves really well in a controlled environment, we give them time off for it. I was watching a recent news article stating that good prisoners can get three days off of their sentence for each day of good behavior. This means their parole could come as early as 20 years (assuming an 80 year average life span) after they start their sentence. The problem is that parole is being used to control prison overcrowding rather than as a true reward. Also, we have law makers who are trying to keep prisoners in longer, but not giving funding to build the additional prisons needed. As one additional point, we have to contend with the prisoners after they are released. For some career felons, this means they have to commit another crime to return to the only environment they are truly comfortable in. I could go on for a very long time on this topic, but suffice it to say that we have too many prisoners and not enough prisons and nobody willing to build a prison in their back yard even if they were able to find the money.

Well it's pretty obvious that if I'm sentenced to life imprisonment that it should be life, like until I die, but to be recommended that I serve no less than 6 years before parole consideration doesn't make sense.

If I'm sentenced to life then there should be NO parole consideration at all.

But that's the messed up justice system for you, worthless pile of sh*t it is. No doubt this person who got life was a murderer so should have been sentenced to death not kept in prison for us to pay for.

Bring back the death penalty in the UK and hurry up about it.

This happens a lot it's because he didn't actually murder anyone even though he imposed a life sentence on his victims. The views of the victims are rarely taken into account. The lawyers for the accused can use every trick in the book to get them a lesser sentence (mental health) etc.Another point jails now are so overcrowded i have heard many times of a parollee getting out early and lesser sentences being given

Legally it is correct, however ridiculous some might consider it. But if you mean what is grammatically wrong, firstly there should be a full stop after the sentence "You are sentenced to life imprisonment". Your second sentence should then start with a capital I not a small i.. Also in your second sentence the word "your" is spelled wrong. It should be "you're"

6 years at the fuckin least?! Is this person planning on dying in the next 6 years?

Riddiculous. What happened to the times when life meant life? If they're only gunna serve 6 years then thats the sentance you give them. Dont glorify the 'life' sentance by devaluing it.

Pah to society.

Well, it's a run-on sentence. There should be a period after the word imprisonment. A second sentence should start at "It is recommended...". And you meant you're considered for parole, not your considered for parole.

As for the content of the statement, 6 years doesn't seem like a life sentence to me.

Unless that sentence is given to a 90+ year old person, six years is a pretty small portion to serve of a life sentence! I realize that most sentences are reduced by good behavior, but six years compared to life is unreal.

I think it's farcical that someone given 'life' could be out in 6 years.

Is this a case you have personal involvement with, or are you just appalled at what a 'life' sentence turns out to mean?

You have LIFE imprisonment which means you stay in prison until you die and then you serve no less than 6 years in prison with out being let out on parole!

To me the statement contradicts itself they should say that the person is sentenced to the possibility of life with a chance of parole after six years.
