Allow the person to lay still until they begin to regain consciousness.
The reason the person fainted is that blood flow to the brain became inadequate to maintain consciousness. By lowering the head to the level of the heart, it assists in equaling-out the blood pressure between head and heart. -- Which is just what happens naturally.
Do remain with the person as they revive, and see to any injuries they may have from their fall.

If they didn't land laying down on the ground, put them down on the ground, put their legs up on a chair or anything there is. If they look or feel hot get an ice cold towel/ ice pack & put it on their forehead. When they wake up give them some juice, or gatorade, or if you dont have that water is ok. This is just basic, if somene passes out.... If it more serious maybe you should like research it or something... I'm not sure. But if someone faints deffinately do the above. ^

I have fainted occasionally, and when it happens to me I get all lightheaded and can't stand up right and need to sit or lay down. SO, if someone you're with is acting like they're going to faint guide them to a chair & have them sit down & put their head between their legs (this will probably keep them from fainting), and give them water to drink & some food, if possible. If there's no chair around or if it's too late help them lay down so they don't get hurt, then when they wake up give them plenty of water & a little sugary snack.

There's no need to go to a doctor (as far as I'm concerned), they're probably just a little dehydrated or else have low blood sugar & you can help them.

Check to see if they are breathing, and if they have any injuries that need to be treated from fainting. Call 911 if they are not breathing.
When they recover have them sit and relax for awhile till they are ready to get up. Make sure to take them to the doctor asap.

Check to ensure that their airway is clear, that they are breathing, and that they have a pulse. If they are not breathing, begin mouth-to-mouth breathing. If there is no pulse, begin CPR and have someone call 911. Elevate their legs to increase blood flow to the brain and loosen any tight clothing. If they have sustained an injury to the head, don't move them and try to keep their neck as still as possible to prevent further injury.
