Seriously, Special Guest Referee matches are entirely pointless unless the referee is a heel and favors one superstar over the other.

-Vince knew a way to rip-off WWE fans with the name Stone Cold Steve Austin being advertised for a possible show up at Cyber Sunday.
-WWE fans believe anything Vince puts on TV!

I agree. A special guest referee was totally pointless in the match last night. Sometimes they can add some excitement like if it's a heel or a celeb from outside of wrestling. Other than that it's pointless. Just another way to get Stone Cold exposure for his movie.

RATINGS what else?

WWE knows that Stone Cold=Ratings and since he can't put SC back on TV full time he brings him back for special appearances thinking that people will want to watch just to seem him. I agree, the guest ref matches are totallly pointless unless the ref does something to favor one over the other to shake things up a little. Cyber Sunday, the whole PPV was basically pointless.

As said ratings. Plus Vince knew that the PPV was going to suck and threw the fans a Austin appearance.

You're right. That's why I voted for JBL. I wanted to see Batista and the Undertaker kick his butt. Austin didn't do anything that a normal ref would have done.

Yeah...Austin being special ref was pretty pointless. I guess people wanted to see him stun JBL and Mick Foley.

Where the hell was Santino Marella?

Im guessing it was to please some fans who havent seen Stone Cold....or maybe it was a way to promote his movie...either way I wanted JBL to the special guest referee...

As others said to hype interest as well as hype Austins movie. Wonder how many times "the Condemned " was mentioned
