A good costume, lots of treats, a good trick to play, scary music, dummy hanging from the tree, a party, kids? What makes Halloween fun for you? Making the perfect costume, cost didn't matter. That's what made it special for me!

I wish that I had my grandkids near so I could make their costumes and decorate my front porch real scary. It used to be my very favorite holiday, but now it's boiled down to a handfull of candy for a baby in a stroller, two teenages in black jackets, and a mother in her normal mother clothes talking in tounges that I don't speak! Help me get into your spirit!!!!

I love this day, in my neighborhood! We have many children who come, in cars, with parents, from across town. They are very poor and so, I take this chance to bless each little smiling face!

Since, I live in a very small community, you would think we would not have a tremendous amount...WRONG! Since moving here, I have NEVER had as many lovely children to come Trick-or-Treating...in any other place I have lived!

In as much, I have prepared by purchasing loads of toys from ABC Distributing Co. I have been stocking up on candy, as well. I think my foyer is now a Halloween give-away store! lol

As for decorating, I have a harvest theme as I do not want to scare the little ones. I also have a beautifully painted scarecrow with the words, "Count Your Blessings" on it. He greets many! There are two other true scarecrows, on each side of the very long walkway, to the door. The children get to choose a toy each and they will get three pieces of candy each! I only hope, I bought enough candy to meet all the needs.

My house, has become a marked house for the little ones and I thank God too, as I am very blessed to be able to give them a wonderful treat!

I need lots of trick-or-treaters. I live in a neighborhood where we get at least 100 a year. I like to make the front porch scary. I try to change it every year so the kids don't know what to expect. This year I have a huge, hairy spider that I can drop at will, just as they reach in to get their candy. I won't do it to the little ones, but I love to watch the older, cooler, kids, try to retain their composure. I guess I'm mean that way.

I like to use a lock on the front gate. Then I turn out all the lights & put on a tape of a dog barking..a really big dog! Halloween has gotton to be a night for muggers, thieves & sexual predators to do some damage to unsuspecting & well-meaning citizens.
It's better to do a group thing with a local shelter, church, community center, or the indoor safety of the mall!

Cocktails and a party will do it for me. I used to really enjoy taking my daughter out trick or treating. Not to many kids do that where I live. The town puts something on for them. We don't have street lights here either, so it really isn't safe for the little ones to be out.

We welcome all kids in costume for one hour and give away home made fresh cookies at my work. It is so much fun to see all the little ones. Last year about 150 came through and we did not have to wear our uniforms that whole day.

I need my long black hooded cloak and a Freddie mask. I like to open the door real slow and have darkness and black candles burning in the entry hall. I just like to scare little kids, I guess. (my shoulders are shrugging)
