stop emailing me to insult me, I have the right to give my opinion, and I believe that 20000 qualified immigrants who have been here 80% of their lives or worst came here as babies have the same rights and american born has,.not by law but by ethic, you guys who are happy about that are selfish and evil. they have never been in jail, no records, they are bilingual, and embraced this culture, they are ready to join the army and do the jobs you wont, so y dont give them a chance, that is why theur parents risked their lives coming to this country.

it is unfair the dream act did not pass... the whole world see how americans behave toward a community that are the back bone of their lives.. they are the workers picking fruits, smelling pesticides and poison, being kille dinthe streets. unprotected. they cross the border to give their kids a better future, by denying the dream act you are punishing innocent kids that were brough as babies with hope of a better life, how evil people can be,, where is god..this people got no heart that was no amnesty,,,perhaps because latinos are brown? cause europeans come here easily,, and not evne mention how many people cross everyday through canada

The problem with the Dream Act is that it was for illegal immigrants, not immigrants who came to the states through the proper channels. It doesn't matter if the person was brought to the US by their parents 20 years ago illegally. They are still not legal residents of the USA, so in return not eligible for the perks that legal residents get.
If the person was brought here by their parents, yet 20 years later still find themselves in the states, how come they have not begun the process to become legal residents if they want to stay. I do not want my California tax dollars to pay for anymore programs for illegals. I work hard and have to pay for my healthcare, school, housing, and so on. So should they.
While I am not disagreeing that many of the immigrants are very hard workers, unfortunately for them they are committing a crime being here. If caught they will be deported. So your argument of them not being in jail is invalid. They are criminals just with their presence in the USA.
Your arguement that they are ethically americans because they have been here most of their lives is also invalid. Ethics is something that changes from person to person, place to place, and culture to culture. It sucks they were brought here by their parents illegally, but just because they have been here doesn't mean they deserve the same privliges that I have as a citizen. If you really want to get into technicalities they aren't even given the rights under the US Constitution. The Constitution is for US citizens only, so they really lose a lot of rights in the Bill of rights alone.
The arguement of them having dreams is also invalid. My ancestors who came from Europe also had dreams, but they came to that states through Ellis Island and the proper channels to achieve those dreams. While the process was long it paid off as the people in their family line include members who became cops, architects, teachers, stock brokers, computer anyalists, members of the US armed forces, and many others. So the dream can be achieved, but do it legally to get there otherwise in the end you are still a criminal.

I was born here,, my dad was a hard working immigrant who worked 3 jobs to put bread in my table when I was 12 two black men killed him, he foght cause he had the money for the rent and for paying our babysitter, my mom had to wait almost 20 years to get her papers,..this idiots dont know what we suffer,, my neighbor's house wans burnt down by racists blacks, I bever went to jail, and I do not hate black people cause at the same time my wife is black and her family is decent, but going to school, being jumped by stupid american kids who called me names and laughed about my race,, got me upset, I always remembered the words my father told me, stay away from trouble learn english and work hard, fight only if u have no choice,it is hard, and I feel sorry for those kids who came here against their will, their parents brought thme here with hope pf a better future and they are quilified. they wont go to school for free or pay less than a citizen they will ahve the oportunity to go and pay the same,, is that much? you already are destrying our community, do not destry those kids' dreams

Do you know how many potential workers who are already here that they will displace, because they will be handed everything on a silver platter, & our kids will have to struggle & not be able to do what they are allowed! Start giving stuff like this to our OWN kids. The ones who are already here & have 2 legal parents & are being trodden down by the illegals being handed everything for free.

Illegal is illegal no matter how you put it. The dream act would allow illegals to get an education ahead of and cheaper than a citizen could. So how is that fair to the citizens? They need to go thru the legal channels and quit asking for a hand out.

I believe the Dream Act will come back (rightfully so). Immigrants are the backbone of American society today. They are doing jobs Americans will not do. Immigrants should be given every oppertunity to better themselves.
I do agree that they are very good workers. Willing to work hard. Low maintenance. Ask for a respectable salary, unlike American workers.

What about American born children's education?
My great, great grandparents were born here - my children were born here......why are they not entitled to a free education and a whole grab bag of gimme's? My children are an excellent resource to the future work pool of this country too!
Oh wait my bad -- I have LEGAL children and am a tax paying American which means in this country my kids don't mean **** to the government.

I notice those that support the "dream act" fail to understand the term "illegal" & work hard to eliminate that prefix from immigrant. This confuses the issue, which of course is their aim. Our growing gang problem & high crime rate is directly attributable to illegal immigration & those that support it. With dwindling resources we are hard pressed to educate & repair infrastructure needed to maintain our legal population.
While I sympathize with those seeking a better life, the US cannot support the World's poor without seriously affecting the living standard or our legal population.
