You can just shut down the computer, so it does not compete against you anymore.
Then straighten a paper clip and insert it in the little hole. Carefully PUSH it and the drive door will open. Once you can grab it, you can put the drawer open. But if you leave the computer on, it will SNAP SHUT on you.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Start by turning the computer off. Get a medium-size or large paper clip and straighten the long leg. Look closely at the front of the CD drive; you should find a hole that's about the right size for the paper clip. (Not the earphone jack, of course!) Sometimes there's a groove just below the drive door instead of a hole.
Carefully push the paper clip straight into the hole to release the catch. The drive door should open without too much pressure. If this doesn't work, the drive may be physically jammed shut. In that case you'll need a hardware technician to fix it.

You stick a wire in the hole near the eject button. Be very careful because the problem is usually that the disk came off the spindle. It may be at an angle and keeping the drawer wedged. Don't try to quickly force the drawer open or the cd can damage the laser.

I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE....THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO TO RESOLVE THE JAMMED CD IN THE DRIVE:
1. CLOSE AND SHUTDOWN ANY AND ALL OPEN PROGRAMS ON YOUR PC.
2. TURN THE POWER OFF TO YOUR PC AND UNPLUG IT.
3. LOOK FOR THE A HOLE TOWARDS/ IN THE FRONT OF THE CD OR DVD DRIVE, THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE YOU SHOULD USE AN UNFOLDED PAPER-CLIP.
4.USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN PUSHING THE PAPER-CLIP INTO THE HOLE. "DO NOT FORCE IT IN, YOU SHOULD SLOWLY PUSH IT IN." THIS WILL SLOWLY
MOVE THE TRAY FORWARD TO AN OPEN POSITION...
5. "NEVER USE A KNIFE OR PIECE OF WIRE TO OPEN A
CD OR DVD DRIVE" THIS DAMAGES THE OPTICAL UNIT... ALWAYS BE DOLLAR SMART, IF YOU USE A KNIFE TO PRY-OPEN ANYTHING THAT HAS AN ELECTRICAL CURRENT OR NOT...THIS WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE....AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE DRIVE....!!!!
6. IF ALL ELSE FAILS TO WORK CONSULT YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL/WEBSITE ON "HOW TO REMOVE THE CD DRIVE FROM THE COMPUTER... PRINT OUT THE
DOCUMENTS BEFORE SHUTTING THE PC OFF AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED...

Get a paper clip and bend it straight. There is a hole on the front of your CD drive that is just big enough to stick the paper clip in. Push it in and you will feel it push against something...keep pushing. This will manually eject the CD drive.

Turn the computer off. There should be a little hole somewhere on the drive; straighten out a paper clip and stick it in that hole, and the CD should eject.

There is a small hole above the CD-ROM. Use a paper clip or something small...push it in that hole. This resets the CD-ROM. You should be able to eject the cd then. You may also try to eject the cd by going to START>MY COMPUTER>RIGHT CLICK ON CD-ROM AND CLICK EJECT. Any problems, email me at HomeDecor_N_More@msn.com

either on or off (from experience), take a pin, and push through the small hole in the face of the drive (not the cd tray). the cd tray will then open up manually. slowly and carefully pull open, take out the disc, and slowly and carefully push back closed. once done, try pushing the eject button. should work now...

if you look closely at your cd drive, there should be a very tiny hole. Its usually located beside your eject button. This hole is to manually eject the tray. Find something like a paperclip to poke into the hole. The tray should pop out and then pull out the tray

Power off,
there is a small pin hole in the front of the cd rom drive, take a long metal item (paper clip) and slip it in to there. it will make contact with a metal plate in there, press firmly and the drive will open to allow you to remove the cd. power computer back on and it should close the drive.
