It would appear so. The words of the feminists are taken at face value without question.

Why?

Because they're "fighting for women" of course. So how can that possibly be wrong?

It is statistically possible that any one group can be right about 100% of what they say & do. If it's not possible to be right about everything, then people should be able to question some of the things that appear false, no?

Well if you question feminism, this translates into either "hating women" or "hating the fact that women have rights."

What a cozy little nook that is. They are perceived as the "noble & all-powerfull-knowers of all things gender related" & there's absolutely nothing that can challenge their assertions.

No need for checks & balances whatsoever.

That's why Andrea Dworkin (I don't care if you're sick of that name. Her "sisters" invited her in for tea & I won't forget that for your convenience) ...Can be celebrated by the fems & no one seems to care.

It's amusing, actually.

EDIT:

(rio)

Andrea Dworkin is most certainly celebrated by feminists & here's proof:

http://www.amazon.com/Feminist-Foremothers-Womens-Studies-Psychology/dp/1560230789

http://www.glennsacks.com/popular_womens_studies.htm

...& that's just what I found in a quick search. Where's your proof? (when a major feminist hub like N.O.W. celebrates her, that does that tell you?)

I meant, "what" does that tell you?

2007-10-29 09:35:12 · update #2

Oh, crap... I guess I'm not perfect either... In my main body, I meant "imposiible" where "possible" is written. I need a coffee.

Gnu... Nice! (I think some people thought you weren't being sarcastic.)

EDIT:

(tehabwa)

Your answer is perfect! Here you see just how irrational some people become concerning critiques of feminism. Did I EVER mention that I thought women were sub-human? Did I ever promote the idea of women as property?

...Complete fabrication, nothing else.

You proved my point 100%. Feminists overreact when people question their religion. "Oh, if you don't believe in feminism, it's clear you hate women & want to enslave us!"

Feminism is not above critique. It's time people like you realize that.

I don't care if you haven't met Dworkin. The "tea" reference was about the mainstream feminists keeping a man-hating radical in the upper echelon of the movement & promoting her works. ...Did you like how N.O.W. memorialized her death?

You absolutely proved my points here & for that... I thank you.

EDIT:

(The Mrs.)

...Dworkin is a clear example of a man-hating radical that is a "hero" in the eyes of many feminists.

All of the "well feminism isn't like that" ...& "only radicals think that way" & "Oh, but that's a fringe group" type responses are reduced to nothing when you see all of the mainstream feminists promoting her work.

She really symbolizes all that has gone wrong with the movement & all of the man-hating that is perfectly acceptable by it.

(Object Of Its Ire) You read them every time. ...AND you feel the need to follow me around trying to sell your damaged goods. If you're so bored by my topics... go away.

...But you won't because you feel the need to try & defend the sinking ship you're on.

(psssst, it's going down whether I'm here or not & whether you're here or not. 40 years of unrestrained hate has a way of catching up with a movement. ....tic-toc, baby!)

Of course, they are!

They are fighting on the side of the angels against the forces of intolerance and oppression.

And no woman would ever say hateful things...

Well, I mean, if she did they were taken out of context...

Well, um, she had a really bad life and was speaking from that perfectly valid perspective...

She did say a lot of good things!

Well, not all feminists support her anyway.

She's not a real feminist. All real feminists are perfect.

Go away. You're a troll and a misogynist and probably a rapist and you don't love your mother and no woman would want you.

EDIT

You blew my cover! Now the thumbs down will start piling up!

All feminists are human; no humans are flawed.

I've never known of any feminist to claim he or she is perfect.

What feminists have in common is the acceptence of the idea that women are human beings, not some lesser species.

If you question the idea that women are human beings, or are rightly treated as property, then you are wrong.

Beyond that one belief, feminists are all individuals, and vary. It's simply not true that all feminists say exactly the same things as all other feminists.

Why is this impossible for you to understand?

I've never invited Dworkin to tea, or even met her.

What's amusing is to see the absolute idiocy of those who refuse to accept the idea that women are human, and who insist that all feminists are identical to each other.

Well, it would be, if they were such hateful people who keep saying such idiotic things.

As always, your incoherent post is just an excuse to rant.

"It's amusing, actually"...

Edit:
Naaaaaah, just kidding. They're old hat. Boring as hell. It's transparently clear you have no education on the subject matter. Why would anyone take the time to bother addressing this rubbish? You are putting people to sleep.

I am not a fan of feminists. They ruin even the most wonderful traditions. Like not throwing a bouquet at a wedding because it is degrading to the ones that have to catch it. Before I was married I used to love doing that at friends weddings. They make life more difficult for themselves. Most feminists I know r b*tches too because they feel like they have something to prove. It annoying

We all know how sexist NOW.org are. All feminists are sexist due to standing by and allowing man-haters to roam free of critisism and even allowed to head alot of feminist organisations.

Please learn the definition of "feminist" so you don't again embarass yourself by complimenting those whom you laughably attempt to malign.

Certainly not. No movement is perfect, and feminists are open to challenges. And for the last time, Andrea Dworkin isn't celebrated by feminists.
