This question is a little vague, are you thinking about an aspect of society, specifically?

'Social Justice' is an oxymoron. That leads me to envision mob rule, and we all know that mob rule isn't always just. A prime example is that the Hitler came to power in Germany due to an electoral process. People thought it was right and just that his party rule, however it was not just at all in retrospect. The problem with society as the sole decider and measure for justice is that it has very short-term memory, and often an inability to think long-term to the future. Trail by jury is the best that you will get. But I would note that a jury of your peers may or may not necessary reflect the views of society.
