In a recent interview it was said in the new Justice League movie and Flash movie that they will use Wally West. Is that a good idea? Who would you use? Here's the article http://www.efavata.com/CBM/

I'd have to go with Wally West, the Justice League already has too many serious characters and needs the Wally West version of the Flash to act as the lighter comic relief. A comedic approach suits the character of the flash much better I think. It's only appropriate that the fastest man alive have a fast mouth and sporatic spazzy attitude to complement his powers.

They both have their good points. Barry Allen was "The" Flash for such a long time, he's kind of like the Tom Baker Dr. Who.

But Allen is a bit stiff, owing to the era in which he was written. He's one of those lofty, no-nonsense heroic types, like Hal Jordan.

Wally has a lighter, more comical side. Also Wally is less powerful, and so his vulnerabilities might make for good conflict in a movie.

In order of preference
Barry Allen (1956-1986)
John Wesley Shipp (1990-1991) tv
Jay Garrick (1940-)
Wally West (1986-2006, 2007-)
Bart Allen (2006-2007)

whether it is a good idea or not, I do not know - depends on the writing and production more that which character.

Barry Allen is the best Flash. This is not only because of how hw used his powers but because of the orinonal villians he had. Mnay of Wally West's villians are either Barry's old foes or new people in the idenities of these villians.

Barry Allen, hands down. No disrespect to Jay Garrick, but Barry was the Flash for so long, he's now the standard model by which to measure the rest.

The Flashes are virtually interchangable - its the Flash villains - the Rogue's Gallery - that makes it worth a movie.
