15!!!!

F = 40%
F + 3 = 44% (Subtract)

3 = 4%
It follows
F/40 = 3/4
F = 3 x 40 /4 = 30 females originally,
M = 60%
M-3 = 56% (Subtract)
3 = 4%
It follows
M/60 = 3/4
M = 60 x 3 / 4 = 45 Males originally,

M : F :: 45 : 30
Hence 15 more males.

answer is 15.

basically it's 2 equations, 2 unknowns.
4/10 = F / (M+F)
4.4/10 = (F+3) / (M+F)

solve them, you get M=45, F=30. So there are 15 more males than females originally.
