This is a trick question. You can only get pregnant when you are fertile. A better question is, "Are infertile/fertile days reliably predictable?" The answer is no. You cannot predict fertile days with 100 percent accuracy. Hence, you can believe that you are on an infertile day and not be. That is why the rhythm method is unreliable. Prediction can be off and pregnancy can occur.

Not every woman is fertile at the same point in her cycle. The average is 14 days after your period. My most fertile day is 9 days after my period (5 mos. pregnant). My sister-in-law is most fertile 21 days after her period (7 months pregnant).

it's POSSIBLE to get pregnant pretty much anytime during your cycle...typically 14 days into your cycle is your most fertile time because that's when you ovulate, but you can still get pregnant at other times if you aren't using protection.
