They are the elite policing force ninja of Konoha. You must be extremely skilled to take part in the organization. Both Itachi and Kakashi were part of it at one time.

ANBU is mostly like a medical ninja or they are medical ninjas. When somebody is hurt, they come and take care of the person. ANBU are mostly strong.

Anbu is mostly medical ninja and the fastest assigning ninja. They are also body gaurds for the Hokage and they are also called as black ops.

They are s combination of guardian, cop and special forces unit.
They are supposed to be the elliet enforcing ninja of the Village of the Leaf. Their job is basically to defend the village and fufill the laws of the Hokage. They also act as the Hokage's bodyguards.
They have a fairly fearsome reputation, but haven't really lived up to it in any of the manga I have read or heard about.

They are supposed to be the best ninjas in the village. They are kind of like a SWAT team that takes care of really hard missions.

they are the healing ninjas of the village hidden in the leafs...
Kabuto, orochimaru's minion, is a anbu black ops ninja...
