Almost all of the republican candidates are outspoken Christians. The idea that there will be a split in the party because of the Christian right is a liberal wet dream.

If Guiliani is the nominee, then it is very much a possibility. Not if one of the other major candidates get the nomination, like McCain, Romney, or Thompson.
Pat Robertson in '88 and '92? I think you've gotten Pat Robertson confused with Pat Buchanan. Robertson ran for President in '88 but not since then. Buchanan ran for President in '92, then '96, and then as a "third party" in '00.

Pat Robertson is suffering from Alzhiemers as near as I can tell. He could fit right in with Ron Paul as the VP on the Libertarian ticket. They'll take anybody.

No the Republicans will not split since they know how important this election is especially with Supreme Court nominees on the line for social conservatives.

No, Christians are too smart to fall for that trick. Watch for a socially conservative dark horse to emerge in Republican party.
One to watch------Mike Huckabee

Not unless they do so in a separate party -- which is unlikely
I'm wondering if Nader will run for the greens again though

Maybe. I don't think it matters because all politicians left, right and everywhere else have long proven that none can be trusted. Why waste your time voting?

Probably not. They know that if they did that, they'd only be insuring a Democrat into office.
