kk i know what u ppl are thinking : if ur asking than ur not emo ... and emo is a music genre yes i know all those things .. i am but i just wanna get more like the ,look i look it already . but i just wanna know if i'm doing anything wrong
p.s.: i am emo inside its not just cause i wanna ake a fashion statement ..

Emo style has to reflect the music and the statement that you are trying to make, but a touch of personalisation never went wrong either.
General clothes rule to look out for : Short skirts, cutted /uneven edges, frilly layers (think gothic ballerina), chequered styles and stripes. Colours are most popular: Dark Electric blues, fluourescent pinks and limes. The most prevalent colour being, as mentioned, black.
A bit of animal print is acceptable if done right- I have been seeing a lot of Emos in my city centre dressed literally as cats recently. This involved cat tiger print leggings, vest tops in plain black or with a bit leopard prink, and for bottoms- ballerina style skirts or hot pants.This was a bit OTT and maybe for some cause, but you can see how a bit animal print such as on a bag is okay.
Use the colours creatively, maybe blue is your favourite- make this your statement by putting some blue streaks in your hair.
If you like loafers, get some chequered pumps.
Shops as simple and deceptive as H& M sell parts of clothing that can be totally passed as EMO style, and will help bring out the part of yourself.

OK well its probably obvious but wearing black boots and all black with a hint of lime green could help
