An American military base in Canada is developing a missile control system based on nuclear energy and is facing problem with the people from the nearby town. When the coroner examines the one of the corpse, he finds that the brain and spinal chord was sucked out and Major Cummings defines the creature as a mental vampire. He looks for Prof. R. E. Now I'm trying to remember...there was an old film called The Tingler (Black and white), that had some sort of thing that crawled about, lots of legs and everything. About the size of a persons head maybe.
Did the one you saw get into a darkened cinema at one point? Drop down from the roof? If so that might be it.
