How clean is your house?

Question

On a scale of 1-10

# 1 resembling an atomic disaster and # 10 being immaculate, show room style clean.

How much emphasis do you put on a super clean house and for those of you with maids, how much do they cost and does it take a team or one person, how often do they come?

For those who do the cleaning yourselves or in family units, how much cleaning do you do a week?

My house is not spotless by any means, but I have 3 small children at home. I clean every day, but I do a deep cleaning every weekend.

But... If I get sick, the house goes to Hell in less than 12 hours. Why?

3 kids under 7 + 2 Pit Bulls + 1 sick mom = Disaster

I guess I am around a 7 - depends on what day of the week it is. It's cleaner on Monday than it is by Friday. I strive for a 10, but with a family and working full time, it's impossible. I describe my "10" as it looking like nobody lives there.

I clean myself and sometimes I can get my 10 yr. old to do a little cleaning for me. I do laundry throughout the week - always on Tuesday, then Wednesday or Thursday or Friday (sometimes all three), Saturday and Sunday and put it away as I have time. I take the trash out as needed and try to get it ALL out on Wednesdays when the trash is picked up. I try to keep the various trashcans emptied - it's the whole "nobody lives here" look I strive for. I run the dishwasher as needed (more or less daily - usually twice a day on the weekends). I vacuum once a week and clean the bathrooms once a week. I straighten and pick up daily. I get my kids to clean their rooms and pick up the basement (toys) about every other week. That's about the extent of my regular routine. Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

Then every so often (as I have time) I deep clean - straighten and organize closets, the garage, etc.

And yes, I'd love to be able to afford a maid. . .**sigh** What a luxury!

1. My home is an estate home (nearly 4 acres large) and I have to have a maid service come twice a week. There's a team of 4 girls that clean my entire house. I used to be on a weekly basis with 6 girls 3 X's a week but it wasn't necessary so I moved down to just 4 girls. The cost I pay weekly is $800.00 and they come twice a week.

2. I still also clean my home myself as well. But only the areas on the first floor. My home is 4-stories large and I can only handle the first floor.

3. On a scale to 1-10, I like my home extremely clean so I would say 10 and I am a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning as well. I have alot of dinner parties, guests over and stay overs alot so I have to always make sure my home is in its perfection!

unfortunately I don't have a maid so with 2 adults, 1 child (4), 1 large dog, a cat, and a fish I spend about 30-35 hours a week cleaning. Some weeks more and some weeks less. Time has been cut down a lot cause now my daughter is old enough to clean her own room, playroom, and make her own bed.

I would be about a 6 or a 7. Every night I make sure that the floors are clean and the dishes done. On Saturday everybody is assign a room (We have 5 in this cleaning crew) to clean from top to bottom usally an hour to an hour and a half. Then on sundays we take a break.

It used to be an 8, but since I had my baby it's more like a 5 or 6, I wish I had more time to clean! My husband and I do a little cleaning each day to try and keep the house in order, but our daughter requires a lot of our time, which is fine, I would much rather spend it with her :)

our house is usually about an 8.

it's clean enough that i don't mind if our friends would pop over unannounced, but if my husband's commanding officer was to show up, then i would like some notice so i can get it to a 10, ya know?

my husband and i just bits and peices throughout the week. like one night maybe i'll dust and vac, then one night he might tackle the bathrooms.
we usually let stuff go about a week and then hit it.
so, dust and vac on a tuesday, then maybe vac again in a few days and then dust again and vac a few days later.
kitchen is perpetually cleaned...dishes are always done daily. i hate seeing them sitting around! the floor gets mopped AT least once per week...if not more.
laundry gets done once a week...usually weekends.
we try to keep stuff picked up all the time, but some places it'll build up. the clutter on the kitchen table and the mail rack gets cleaned out about once a month....

i WISH i could afford a cleaning service!!! that'd be AWESOME!

Not on Monday morning don't bring up this question, No joke I use to be a fanatic housekeeper but I have slowly became I guess you would say , my get up and go, has got up and gone. Otherwise it looks like it did this time last Monday Morning. A total disaster but you know what if you worry about your house not being spotless you'll die a younger age but if you just have a moderately clean house you'll have more places to go and be happier with your life. Don't be a slave to your home, it will attack you everydaythe same as yesterday.

no maid here, but several of my friends have them....I have a small cottage type home & prefer cleaning myself...on a scale of 1-10, I'd say my house is an 8-9 , I'm not a clean freak but I like things in order & I feel better when the house is clean....plus, we are near the beach & people stop in a lot - so, I like it orderly for guests....♥

forgot, i hate cleaning showers, so my husband helps w/that...

10+ even with two kids sick with the flu b/c I'm selling my home and it must look showroom! If I'm not selling, it looks like an 8, I'm a neat freak and people comment on how clean my home is and are surprised I have two kids, not that I try to keep the kids from playing but we all tidy up after ourselves, it's good habits. I do a good cleaning once a week and lightly clean every day, bathrooms and kitchen get disinfected sometimes three times a day.
