Me and my family are going to Walt Disney World for the first time, and we are getting to go to all the parks. I know alot already about the rides, but i want to know stuff from people that have acually rode all these rides. I hate drops. If a drop is more than 100 feet, i hesitate to get on it. But i just dont like looking down. Im not scared of hights, its just that something about drops makes me scared. But i love loops and inversions. I would like to know about particulary drops on all the rides and give them a scary scale of 1-5, and what you think about the ride. Person that gives me alot of detail gets 10 points.
*Magic Kingdom-Big Thunder Mountain Railroad,Space Mountain and Splash Mountain.
*Epcot-Mission:Space, Soarin'
*MGM-Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster

Ok at disney land the rides arn't massive so you wont be too scared anyway i'll go in the order you said.
Mgaic kingdom - Big Thunder mountain is nothing just a small runaway train, not really very fast no big drops, nothing that makes your stomach go and nothing to make you very scared especially if your used to inversions. Space mountain a brilliant ride in the dark but not pitch black, really good fun, no big drops once again (take the right option in the que when you come to the option for less drops) just mainly tiwsts and turns. Splash mountain is the only ride here you may have a little fear with as there are a few small drops throughout but at the end (clearly seen from outside the ride) is a fairly large drop but not massive. You may be hesitant to ride this but it isn't that bad and i doubt it is over 100ft.

Epcot - Nothing to worry about here no drops, a bit of speed on test track, mission space is a simulator and soarin doesn't really have drops it just looks like you are high.

MGM - Tower of terror has some pretty big drops but it isn't a rollercoaster so you can't see it and the scary thing about this ride is about when you are going to shoot up or down not when it happens. Rock and rollercoaster has virtually no drops it's just about the original shoot-off speed and the three inversions (though I only felt 2).

Animal kingdom - Expedition everest is a brilliant ride brilliantly set and a coaster fan like you would be mad not to go on this anyone would love this. Two main drops firstly the backwards drop but this is very shallow and you don't go down to far, the second can clearly be seen from the outside and is kind of large but not larger than splash mountain. My suggestion is sit at the front if you don't want a big drop, because the trains are quite long you dont begin to drop before a way down the drop.

Anyway have a great time and if you go to any other theme parks most rides can be seen from outside, universal studios has the mummy which is the only indoor coaster I can think of but that doesn't have any big drops you would be scared of.

Good Luck

I have been to Disney 8 times, and am going in January to make it number 9 so I think I will be able to help you here.....
Magic Kingdom
~Big Thunder Mountain-a very fun roller coaster but not very fast, there are few drops but don't think it isn't fun, although it is a "calm" roller coaster you will want to ride this a few times!
~Space Mountain-I go with my dad that hates roller coaster and he loves this ride, and I lllooovveee roller coasters and I think this one is pretty wild
~Splash Mountain-I HATE drop and this one has a pretty large drop at the end, BUT the ride inside is definitely worth the drop at the end, the ride is very very long and very interesting

Epcot
~Misson:Space-I have only ridden this twice simply because it leaves you with a sick feeling afterwards (b/c of all the spinning to simulate space flight) it was awesome and should be experienced once, but once is enough
~Soarin'-One of my favorite rides in all of Disney World, it is awesome how real it feels, the breeze, the smells, the everything...no drops nothing extremely dramtic either, but very very fun ride

MGM
~Tower of Terror-like splash mountain it is worth the ride up to the drop to ride it, I hate the drop but the view of the entire Disney World when the window opens right before the drop is great
~Rock'n'Roll Roller Coaster-another one my dad, a rollar coaster hater, rides, but this goes up to 80 mph and has two upside down loops, INSIDE!!

Animal Kingdom
~Expedition Everest-WOW WOW WOW!!! The best ride I have ever ridden!!! No major drops but some fast backward action!!! Worth the long wait!

I like gduvhull's answer. I just want to add a little to it:

1) It's Disney World (Disney Land is in California).
2) The left side and right side options in Space Mountain are exactly the same (only inverted of each other) so they both have the same number of drops and turns - but, all of the drops are small (maybe 30-40 feet?).
3) The biggest issue that I know of with Expedition Everest is that it has a tendency to make people a little sick (I can only ride it twice in a day). But, if you love loops and inversions, you may not have any trouble with it. And, that ride moves fast enough, you probably won't even realize that it has any drops at all.

You would really benefit by going to your local book retailer and picking up a copy of "The Unnofficial Guide To Disney World" to learn about all of Orlando's attractions, but here's my two-cents-worth:

Big Thunder: Scary Scale - 2 My son rode this when he was three. Great ride. More amusing than scary, but your tummy gets tickled a little. No big drops

Space Mountain: Scary scale - 2 Top speed is 28 mph. It's jerky, but no big drops. Fun, not scary.

Spash Mountain: Scary scale - 3 Best ride at the Magic Kingdom. Looks scarier than it really is. Incredible visuals and detail. The last drop looks steep from the top, but it doesn't even tickle your tummy. 52 foot drop.

Mission:Space: It's not really a thrill ride, but very interesting. This ride creates simulated g-forces. The first 10 seconds are a 4 on the scary scale, but after that, about a 2. If you don't like spinning, avoid this ride.

Soarin': Scary scale - 1. Not scary, but really fun. Simulated hang-glider over California landmarks (why not Florida landmarks puzzles me).

Tower of Terror: Scary scale - 4. Again, this ride looks much scarier than it is. Incredible visuals inside that people who are scared of this ride miss out on. The drops are so quick that they aren't too bad. They are over 100 feet, but don't sweat it. Fun, but not Disney's funnest.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: Scary scale - 5. Disney's scariest, BUT the most fun. The first few seconds are the scariest. The car goes from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds, but once you hit the first inversion (there are 3), you just smile and sing along to the Aerosmith music. No hills, just fast.

Expedition Everest: Scary scale - 4 Disney's highest coaster, but not much of the tummy tickler. The biggest drop is 80+ feet, but it's not scary in the least. Going backwards in the dark is kinda scary.

Dinosaur: Scary factor - 3 (adults) 5 (kids). Very fun! But the very last dinosaur made me crap my pants. No hills. Dark ride with great animatronic dinos

I understand completely I hate, spins, drops, moving backward, sharp turns and rides in general.
Big Thunder Mountain is fine a very small roller coaster. Scare factor 1
Splash Mountain, my favorite ride of all time, but there is a drop. Scare factor 2
Space Mountain, rode it once, never again. Scare factor 3
Soaring: great, love it, the best ever Scare factor 0
Expedition Everest: rode once never again. Scare factor 4
Dinosaur: rode once never again Scar factor 3
Tower of Terror Scare factor 5
Rockin Roller Coaster scare factor 4

In regards to the never again. They were fun, but I got sick one each and the rest of the day was just unpleasant. Have a blast.
Talk your fears away for Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Soaring especially if you have small kids they will love riding these with you. T

okay, i am an annual pass holder and have gone on all the rides a bunch of times. here is the low down... warning: spoilers.

Magic Kingdom.

Space Mountain. this is the oldest coaster on property. not very fast (about 30-32mph but feels faster because its a low coaster. think of being on a go card). does have a couple of quick drops. mostly in the dark so most will catch you my surprise.

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road. only one drop and its not that tall at all. will be over quickly. more about quick turns.

Splash Mountain. the only drop is about 65feet. if you are afraid of the drop, then just look forward. look towards the front of the boat. that way it feels like you are just moving fast instead of dropping. this is true of most coasters.

Epcot.

Mission Space: this is a simulator. might not like it if you are claustrofobic. if you get dizzy, then select the less intense mission. no drops.

Soaring: again simulator and the room is dark. the first image might scare you if you are scared of heights. there are no drops. worse case scenario close your eyes. it just feels like you are on a porch swing.

MGM
Tower of Terror is a big drop and the only one that i count. because you drop straight down. most of the drop happens in the dark except for the very top where there is an open door... actually two. the drops change everytime so there is no way to get used to it.

Rock and Roller is the best but shortest ride at the park. the best thing is that it does 0-60mph in about 2.8seconds. but because you are running at tops speed from the start, the ride will be over quickly. you will go upside down and it has a corkscrew (my favorite part) but again, its in almost complete darkness and you cannot tell how high up you are.

Animal Kingdom.
Dinosaur is a simulator. its like going off road on a jeep. no real drops unless you consider going down hill a drop.
Expedition everest. best ride ever! i am afraid of height and at first would close my eyes during certain part of this ride because it is out in the open but i still go on it. there is a part were it goes backwards. its freaky but fun. again, if you are on a coaster and you face towards the front of the car, it will feel like you are going fast and not like you are dropping.

hope that helps.

*Magic Kingdom*
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: It's not a scary ride at all, there are not any drops.. it's a thrill ride, yet at the same time tame as a kiddy ride. No drops, no inversions.. just fun! (1/5)
- Space Mountain: The only thing to be afraid of is how old and rickety it is.. If I'm not mistaken, there is only one drop.. which, as it's all dark, you don't see it. (2/5)
- Splash Mountain: There is one big drop, which is at the end.. It doesn't feel like a big drop, but it definitely looks like one while you're at the top. You can see for quite a distance, and when you look down.. it looks like you'll hit the thorn bush. The drop isn't scary at all, it's just as I said.. it's only intimidating. (2.5/5)

*Epcot*
- Mission: Space: The only part that feels like a 'drop', is when you take off. It feels like exactly as it says.. like you're take off! You just look into a monitor, and you see yourself shooting off into space. It's amazing! I'm terrified of hights myself, and there isn't anything to worry about. You're just in a closed cockpit (don't see anything outside), and all you actually don't shoot off or anything. (3/5)
- Sourin': This is just a ride that 'gets you off your feet'. All it does is lift you up really high (probably about 3 stories, dunno to be exact), with your feet dangling. You sit in front of a huge screen, and it's basically like a virtual simulator. It's nothing scary, just hang gliding across fields, oceans, etc.. Personally, I think it's really boring.. but after a days worth of walking, it's definitely worth it. Not only that, when you go across certain places.. you can smell it (1/5)

*MGM*
- Tower of Tower: If you're afraid of drops as you say you are, then you must avoid this one. It basically takes you to the top of the hotel, and drops you. I'm not sure how far you drop, but you drop numerous amounts of times (4/5)
- Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: Ahh, nothing to be afraid of. If you love loops, twists and speed.. nothing to be afraid of, except maybe the launch. At the beginning of the ride, it actually launches you into your first.. well, won't ruin it for you! If you don't like to being shot out at really fast speeds (0 to 57 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds), ask to sit in the very back.. you won't feel a thing. Except when doing loops of course.. feels like you're floating! (3/5)

*Animal Kingdom*
- Expedition Everest: If you are terrified of looking down, you might not want to go on this one.. At the beginning of the ride, you get pulled to the top.. and as you're going, you can see everything! It's quite high, although the drop isn't big at all.. it's about as big as Splash Mountain. (3/5)
- Dinosaur: I can't say, haven't been on it.. although, I don't think there are any drops at all. Just fast speeds, bumps.. and scary animals! Then again, I could be completely wrong.. never went on it!

And "Daddy Disney" is right about the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster ride, except about it being the scariest (I personally think Tower of Terror is the scarriest). I laughed when I read that, because it's so true.. whenever you ride it, you'll eventually start singing to the lyrics. I'm not an Aerosmith fan to the least, but it does make you sing the song!

I truly love all these rides except Mission Space. I assume 1 is mild, and 5 is most scary.
Big THunder Mtn : great ride, my 10 yr old's favorite. It's fairly bumpy, but no major drops-3
Space Mountain: this jerks you around, no steep drops (plus it's pitch dark in there, you wouldn't see them!) Again, my whole family loves this ride.-4
Splash Mtn: My family's FAVORITE ride, but there is a major drop at the end-4 for me, sounds like a 5 for you
Never been on Mission Space (I get too motion sick)
Soarin: I thought I might get sick on this, until I went on it. It is beautiful, definitely not to be missed. You glide around, no drops. 2
Tower of terror: Nothing but drops. It's great to experience, but not for you I don't think - 5
RRC: My favorite at MGM. It goes upside down a couple of times. I love it, so does my 15yr old. Again, pretty much in the dark, full of neon - 4
Exped. Everest: Very cool. A few major dips, plus part of it goes backwards very fast. Jerks you around a little, but thumbs up from my 10 and 15yr olds, me too. - 5
Dinosaur: No drops, it's a car ride. But veerrrrry bumpy! - 4 for the dinosaurs jumping out at you.

Looovvve Disney. I'll answer anything. Plus here's a great site to visit to know all things Disney

DO NOT TRY TOWER OF TERROR. WE JUST SPENT A WEEK IN ORLANDO AT ALL OF THE PARKS, AND I AM 26 YEARS OLD AND I HAD MY HEAD IN MY DAD'S ARM AND CRYING LIKE A 2 YEAR OLD. SOARIN' IS AWESOME, AND I DIDN'T RIDE THE REST OF THEM BECAUSE I DON'T DO ROLLER COASTERS, BUT MY 6 AND 8 YEAR OLDS RODE EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE ROCKIN' ROLLER COASTER BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSED. HAVE FUN, BUT DON'T DO TH T.O.T
