I get about 25-30 mpg depending on how heavy my foot is. And coupled with the facts that empty on my gas gauge means that I've used 8 gallons and Saturn says I have a 12.8 gallon gas tank, I let it get as low as I want/need. I actually want to run out of gas so i know my exact limits. But I've only ever let it get to 9.8 gallons (determined when i filled it up). I was well below E at that point.

My record is 330 miles on eight gallons (pure highway).

These days I can't afford to top it off often. I just wait for it to hit "E", or for the fuel light to come on. The reserve in my Envoy should be good for about 12 extra miles...I hope. :O

The Envoy sucks on fuel economy! Gettin' reemed at the pumps....thanks big oil industry! (Oh and GMC!)

My electronic "range" indicator is ALWAYS ON, so I know roughly how many miles I have left on a tank.

Wait till it gets to E!
You know what I think the E might mean extra eleven miles my car has not failed me yet! (knock on wood)

My car has a light that pops up when I am on E. I can usually go at least another 40-50 miles when the light comes on. I make it a point to fill up when the light comes on.

Yeah I top it. I'm lazy so every last little drop counts. That's one second more time I have in that gas tank till I have to fill it again.

Top it off . . . I try never to go below a quarter of a tank. It makes me nervous.

Wait for the E. Maybe the prices will go down a cent by then.
