Instead, have an honest, open conversation about your concerns that lead you to want to violate his privacy. You'll find if you establish trusting communication with your son, you won't need to spy on him.

You don't say what age he is. If he is an adult, you have to learn to let go. He is no longer under your control. Accept this.

I would discuss this with him first. How old is he? Why do you want it. This is a really big trust issue. Not only do you not trust him but even bigger is that he will lose his trust in you. That is something a child will have a very hard time with. If you are concerned about him going to sites you don't feel he should go to then perhaps you should get net nanny or an equivelent

For what? Well if it is for the computer than go on when he is already logged on and in options I think there is something that you can change it without already giving the password. Or just tell him he's grounded from the computer if he doesn't tell u.

Passwords are to used to ensure privacy, among other things. If he chooses not to share it with you, so be it.

That said, what password are you looking for? Windows login, the router's admin password, or another program? And, WHY?

Please re=post, then maybe we can help.

internet password? like login in emails? easy install keylogger :D lots of free keylogers in the net. just install it then itll run on the background. When a user using the computer it records all the keys that he/she presses.

There are a few things you can do. Ask him, or, if you're the computer's admin, go into start, control panel, user accounts, and try to change his password. I don't know if that will work or not.

the best possible way is to ask your son about it....
even the internet service provider does not know it, they just have the power to reset the PW...
but even if you own/pay the internet service? its still your son's PW right? so it would still boil down that you should ask him...just ask him for that 1 in the most simple & gentle way you can think of...and if possible, tell him the reason why you badly need it....

There are ways, and i could tell you, but seriously, what is the need to know? I mean, whats the worst thing he could be looking at online? Nude pic's? I think you should worry a little less and let him have a little privacy.

If you really think he is up to no good, than take his PC privileges away. But don't snoop, besides you might not like what you find.
