Yes it can make you dumb.
My daughter made me mean and my son made me completely incompetent.
The good news is that by they time my daughter was 6 months old I was nice again and when my son was a yr I was finally capable of driving, cooking and doing laundry and could even read a book again.
Each baby affects you differently so unfortunately you are just going to have to work around it. Get some extra rest and study more.

MANY women feel this way, you are definitely not alone. I personally think that every week further I get, I lose more brain cells. I've had so many "duhhhh..." moments at work it's embarassing (and I work in C.S. where that's not exactly understood). In a way, get used to it, because the forgetfulness you have now will just be replaced by exhaustion after the baby's born and you can't remember what sleep is! Congratulations and hang in there, it does get easier (after a while)!

Yes, this is totally normal. I am SO sorry you are in school, I would not do good! I am having a hard time just doing my job and remembering to get dressed and put my shoes on every morning!
I used to be the most organized and 'on time' person you'd ever know and now I am useless! My poor husband has to remember appointments and remind me not to forget things!
It is common to become forgetful and clumsy during pregnancy.

I have forgotten my next word in a sentence SEVERAL times...I'm only 3 months!
I have forgotten appointments, meeting times, phone numbers...I'm starting to think I'll forget my own birthday when it comes around.
The conclusion I have come to regarding this:
Pregnancy is a mind blowing time for women. You're excited, scared, curious...your mind is everywhere! So you can't expect to be on top of the memory game right now!
Congrats!

Pregnancy made me dumb too. I have lost the ability to do normal day to day things. I.E: I parked at a red light the other day, and then to tried to drive with my car in park.
I know how you feel.

Me too! Im going to have to drop my classes because I can't remember anything that they are trying to teach me. I guess I will just suck it up and try again next semester. I even had surgery 2wks ago and I keep forgetting to go get the damn stitches taken out because my memory has gotten so bad.....

HAHA--I call it pregnant brain. I actually saw on 20-20 or something a little bit about how women's brains actually shrink while they're pregnant. They grow back afterward, but i dont know. My brain hasn't been the same since.
Try doing your homework twice over. Good luck.

This is NORMAL, unfortunatly!! :) Both of my pregnacies were like that!! I couldn't remember ANYTHING, and I just felt incredibly ditzy the whole time~!! I think you will find that a lot of us have this happen...rest assured, your mind will return once your hormones get back to normal!

Haha.
It messes with your brain that's for sure.
I got really forgetful and would drop things constantly, and said "huhh?" a lottt. Haha.
There's not really anything you can do.
