Studies have found that it reduces sensitivity (this article also mentions how it has lost popularity in the USA in recent times):
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,285532,00.html
Makes masturbation more difficult:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06646.x
Which makes sense, that's how it was made popular in the USA:
http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/27-03-2006/77873-circumcision-0
Increases erectile dysfunction rates:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=14979200&dopt=Abstract%7C
Those are some of the risks apart from the ones right after the surgery (bleeding, infection, skin bridges) which you can read and research more about. Circumcision's no longer as popular as before.
The USA is the last developed nation doing it to newborns without medical/religious reasons and even our rates have fallen from as high as 90% in the 60s to as low as 14% nowadays.
http://www.cirp.org/library/statistics/USA/staterates2004/
http://circresearch.googlepages.com
That link above contains all the other risks involved with circumcision to take into account. Keep in mind that it's a permanent surgery; there's no going back, so research it a lot.
As far as cleaning goes, it only takes 5 to 10 seconds to pull the foreskin back and rub the head when you shower, and that will keep it clean and even feels. It takes days to get dirty down there, so taking those few seconds will prevent any problems. I've never had an infection down there in my life.

Positives of circumcision:
-May decrease chance of UTI (which is already small)
-May decrease chance of HIV infection in males during heterosexual sex.
-Eliminates any diseases of the foreskin (obviously)
-Improvement to hygeine
-Some cultures prefer it
-May increase staying time (by possibly decreasing sensation)
-Some women prefer a circumcised penis.
Drawbacks:
-Expensive for adults, price ranges from 1000-3000 US American. Generally not covered by insurance.
-May decrease sensation leading to less sexual enjoyment
-May DECREASE staying time.
-Some Cultures prefer the intact penis.
-Subsequent injury to the penis (frostbite, burns, zipper injury) could cause more permanent damage rather than simply damaging the foreskin.
-Surgical risks (excessive bleeding, wound infection, anesthesia reaction, loss of penis)
-Potential increase in risk for certain STD's
-Loss of potential early warning alarm for diabetes (recurrent foreskin infections are often a potential sign of early diabetes)
-Some women prefer an intact penis.
-Increased probability of meatal stenosis (narrowing and subsequent constriction of the urethra)
Conclusion and analysis: Culture and female preferance are generally linked. However neither should be a deciding factor as only a shallow individual would use your foreskin as an excuse to become intimate. Sensation changes have been reported to be improved, diminished, and not changed at all. Most are unreliable and the best answer would be to say that only the individual in question can determine what they prefer. In general most follow trends, men who desire to be circumcised, or have medical problems prefer it. Men who felt pressured into it or otherwise did not want the surgery tend to dislike it. Everyone else falls all over the spectrum. Cost varies widely depending on your surgeon and type of anasthesia used. General costs more than a local. Plastic Surgeons also tend to cost more than a GP or urologist. There are two well known (in the circumcision discussion community) circumcision doctors in the United States, one in Florida, the other in Atlanta, Georgia.
Overall, unless you have a strong irrational desire to be circumcised or a medical reason. You should just leave it alone. Especially if you're considering because of an insistent girlfreind or societal pressure.

ADVANTAGES OF BEING INTACT:
--Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for the man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A new study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
--Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.
--nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html By the way, I'm definitely with the majority on this!
--foreskin makes masturbation more fun - and better for your partner to play with.
--Circumcision hurts -- a lot -- when it's done, even if you are too young to remember it. Have a look at http://www.cirp.org/library/procedure/plastibell/ -- is this any way to welcome a child into the world?
--Circumcision, like other surgery, has a chance of complications. Each year a few baby boys have to have their entire penises amputated and undergo surgery to make them into fake girls. And a few die.
ADVANTAGES OF BEING CUT: Circumcision has NO advantages that are not fictional or only relevant in a few areas
--You can be just as clean if you are uncircumcised. Wash. It's THAT simple. Even if you're cut, you still need to wash.
-- If you're sleeping around, you need to use condoms regardless or you will get diseases.
--Some studies have shown a lower rate of cancer of the penis in cut guys, but this cancer is so rare that it's hard to get a good statistical sample. More boys/men die each year from botched circumcisions than from cancer of the penis.
--The US has the highest circumcision rate in the developed world and also the highest AIDS rate in that group. http://www.circinfo.org/hiv.html

It depends. People say it's more hygienic and such, but if you wash under your foreskin, it's no problem. People also say it looks better, but that's only the common view in the US where it's popular - most other people don't mind or think it looks weird. People have different experiences with this, some are happy, some not, it depends on your reason for doing it. If you're having foreskin problems you might be happy with the result if not you will probably lose sensitivity and it will make sex and masturbation worse. Some people say you have a smaller chance of catching STDs with one or the other but you still need to use a condom.

PLEASE if you are thinking of doing one watch one being done FIRST.
Good long term results -
Some woman like it
(Some research says) Side effects of STD's not as bad
(Sometimes) Not as sex crazed at puberty
Neutral long term effects -
Easier to clean (but when there young you can say that it feels good if you wash it they never stop cleaning it)
Only about 20% - 60% depending where you live are circumcised today he won’t be left out.
Bad long term results -
Not so much in the US but in other country’s males are
bullied for being circumcised
(Some research says) Higher chance of getting STD's
Head of penis desensitized
Having to push harder during sex
Almost all circumcised males need lubricant
Partner is less likely to have an orgasm
Foreskin can (sometimes) bleed during masturbation
Circumcised males can have resentment to there parents
The doctor can sometimes stuff up (1/100 loose there penis)
You can't go to Antarctica (high chance of getting frost bite
on the head of your penis)
Circumcised babies are more likely to get infections because of the nappy holding the urine and poo directly up onto the head of the penis.
There is research out there saying it protects against HIV and other infections but the thing is there have been tones of tests and they go both ways there is no solid answer to weather it protects or it doesn't I would say it makes no difference.
Circumcised sex
Positives
- You have feeling on the way in and out
- Some woman like it
Negatives
- You push harder because of the head being desensitized
- Feeling not as good
- Hard to get orgasm for both partners
- Masturbation can get sore for men who have had tight circumcision
Uncircumcised sex
Positives
- Don't have to push as hard
- Easy for woman to know if you have cleaned it
- Woman have orgasms easier
- Not having to use lubricant
- Masturbation can feel more like real sex
Negatives
- Can feel like masturbating
The cost could be from $40 - $300 the cheaper you go the crapper it gets.
My advice - If you are thinking of doing your sons don't he should be entitled to a foreskin, I was circumcised against my will. Children in my books are not apart of any religion you should be accepted into it when you are older enough to understand. People don't have a choice in what country there born in, what colour they are, what religion you are, if your male weather your circumcised or not. You should give your children as many choices as you can.
A REAL baby boy being circumcised.

No negatives! I was cut at 18 and now 28 and can honestly say sex is 100% better, much cleaner, and healthier for all involved! The surgery was done in office with a local and was $400 in 1997. I was circumcised on a Friday afternoon and was back to my college classes on the following Monday! As a father to two boys (1&3) now, I had no doubt when the question arose to have both circumcised before leaving the hospital!
Here is a recent paper on the subject!
BioEssays. 2007 Oct 12;29(11):1147-1158
Why circumcision is a biomedical imperative for the 21(st) century.
School of Medical Sciences and Bosch Institute, Building F13, The
University of Sydney, Sydney, New South Wales 2006, Australia.
Circumcision of males represents a surgical "vaccine" against a wide
variety of infections, adverse medical conditions and potentially
fatal diseases over their lifetime, and also protects their sexual
partners. In experienced hands, this common, inexpensive procedure is
very safe, can be pain-free and can be performed at any age. The
benefits vastly outweigh risks. The enormous public health benefits
include protection from urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted
HIV, HPV, syphilis and chancroid, penile and prostate cancer,
phimosis, thrush, and inflammatory dermatoses. In women circumcision
of the male partner provides substantial protection from cervical
cancer and chlamydia. Circumcision has socio-sexual benefits and
reduces sexual problems with age. It has no adverse effect on penile
sensitivity, function, or sensation during sexual arousal. Most women
prefer the circumcised penis for appearance, hygiene and sex. Given
the convincing epidemiological evidence and biological support,
routine circumcision should be highly recommended by all health
professionals.

the negatives are that sex will not feel as good because you will be less sensitive, the skin is no longer able to slide on the penis shaft and many more.
The advantages of being cut are....no chance of phismosis but that is like saying to remove your appendix to stop appendicitis. check out the links below for the many reasons not to get done. If you are an adult then you have ask yourself why get it done now?

Well I went through the surgery when I was 10 years old and it wasn't that bad truthfully, they say it can get worse as you get older but I think they said that to make me feel better. Ya fall asleep, ya wake up and theres liek gauze wrapped around your dick, they'll let you go home the same day a long as you can urinate once, then your good to go. Then you just have to take off the gauze over time and your good. It'll sting to pee for a little while when it first comes out, and then your good.
As to the positives, well truthfully I enjoyed being curcumsized a lot better then not. I think it looked a lot better and so do all the girls I've ever been with.
