He would seem to be less than emotionally stable.

I don't blame him for walking off the show. 60 minutes was more interested in digging up dirt about his wife then talking to him as a leader of a democratic country.
Sarkozy has interesting points to make about mid-East peace that 60 minutes should have asked about instead of pushing him abut his wife!
60 minutes was being typical boorish American, unaware of other countries cultural morals. Europeans on a whole don't care if there politicians are divorced or having an affair. It's a none issue for them.
And he is very pro-American....He is the first French President since before WWII to back every American foreign policy stance (He hasn't been overly opposed to the war in Iran).
P.S I haven't been a fan of France since DeGaulle pulled France out of NATO in 1967

Nicolas Sarkozy is a visionary, one of our future movers and shakers. I cannot believe 60 minutes would consider their question appropriate. Once they were a great investigative and informative program, but now they act like a cheap taboid with this question.
More leaders should simply stand up to the media and tell them, this has nothing to do with my position, and it is a part of my private life.
On the same hand, he recognized how Americans have the right to ask even such a personal question to someone like him. He appreciates the freedom our press has, yet he also sees how it does not demand an answer as well.
It reminds me of the saying, I may not like what you have to say, but I will always defend your right to say it.

He is the leader of a world power who is allready under tabloid attack in his own country...What on earth was a so called respected news program asking him about his marriage when there are thousands of issues with a more necessary import to us the viewing public? 60 minutes...who went so far as to air the episode reeks of tabloiditis, and petty baiting...Though I won't soon move to France I will avoid the sensational pseudo journalism that is a staple to the lazy cheap shot artist of the 60 minutes empire..

He was asked an inappropriate question. It was not an interview for a movie, it was an interview about the President of France. Contrary to popular belief, the public does not need to know everything. I think it was very disrespectful to bring up his marital problems.

You think that Nicholas was insulting?
He praised the United States throughout the interview, and he only got up and walked out when the chick asked about his divorce!
I would have walked out, too, but I would have been more vocal about it. That was a personal question, and an attempt at a low blow.
(I suspect that you hate anyone who is supportive of the US. I hope you're not an American.)

hah i saw the same show last nite.. well why should he care do you think bush EVEN gives french magazines like Figaro or Lemonde interviews??? and 60 minutes is important, but not nearly as important as these, i think he really has his act together for whatever his intentions are... those are the ones that arent really clear to me what direction he wants to go, he seems much like the new fascist order thats sweeping the world right now as soon as i saw the interview i immediately thought Putin, Aznar or Chenney, who are very "down to business" but seem to pursue more their own agenda, one thing is for sure he is no Chirac who i thought as Yeltsin good natured just nothing effective towards the end, - - given he does seem to be a bit weird and well that about his woman seems to say alot about his personal life, u just dont really seem too many presidents with wife problems like that look at clinton his wife stuck around, this one just doesnt care who sees her with who or just really bad behavior really, but theyre a very real couple as well, i knowmany couples like that in real life, hes certainly not have to answer questions about a divorce when going through it, what bad taste to even touch the subject by 60 min, and given its not even from France why would he, seemed a very opportunistic question to make more fit for tabloids and brittney- - hes certainly weird to us, and given how weird he is i do think hes certainly pro american, its just hes not a redneck or speaks with a twang, but remember he lived in the US and really liked things here, even putting down his own france of how theyre not like the US, theres alot of buzz of sarcozy and after what i saw i definitely want to keep a closer eye just to see exactly what he is about

Wasn't it on 60 minutes that Dan Rather promoted phony documents in an effort to discredit Bush? Credible?

Apparently they started asking him personal questions about his divorce. He has every right not to answer them if they have nothing to do with his role as the President of France.

I skaw the clip where he supposedly lost it. He did not. Leslie Stahl asked a question that was improper. She had no business to inquire into his separation. He rightfully terminated the interview but he certainly did not storm out.
