Start with your oil on the bottom of the pan. Heat it on high, but if you see smoke rolling off the oil it is too hot. Check the oil with one kernel to see if it pops. If it does add the rest of the popcorn. Once you closed the lid never reopen it until you are ready to pour it out.
Cook it moving the pot constantly until the popping ceases or slows down to nothing.
Immediately pour the popcorn into a bowl, add the melted butter and salt!!!
I LOVE POPCORN!!!!
We even make it over the fire sometimes but I prefer the old fashioned way better. Microwave popcorn sucks!

Just put your kernels in a pan with enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan, get a lid and listen to the poppittee pop, when it is done, (stops popping) put in a bowl, salt, melt real butter not imatation and pour over it toss it around pour the rest and do the same toss a roo......too tasty. If I knew how my mom use to make this awesome sugar coating that harded and she made it pink.....oh yeah. My efforts have all turned out more like the popcorn ball syrup....not close?

First put a lot of butter in the pan, turn it on low and let the butter melt. Put in the corn in and leave it on low for a little while until the corn is close to popping. then cover the pan and turn the heat higher. The key is not to burn the butter. Take it off the burner as the popping slows to a few pops. Remember try not to burn the butter. you'll like it better than microwave..

use a large pot with a tight fitting lid. Only use 1/2 cup kernels, and a table spoon of oil. Over med-high heat, let pan get hot add oil, and kernels put on lid and shake pan. Keep pan moving back and forth over heat. If you let the kernels remain stationary they may burn. Good luck.

Butter goes on after corn is popped. Make sure your oil is hot. Drop a few kernels in the oil first, and when they pop, pour the rest in the pan. Make sure the pan isn't too hot or you'll burn it. Good luck!

read the directions if there are any on the bag of kernels, I think you have to add oil to the pot. I add the melted butter on after, just lightly pour it on, shake up and enjoy!
