Use a little warm water with soap and peroxide in it. The hand soap cleans and th peroxide softens. Soak for about 20 mins. add more hot if it should cool off. Then apply a lotion with aloe and lanolin. That should help.

The first poster is right that slathering your hands with Vaseline before you go to sleep, and wearing thin cotton gloves over the Vaseline will help keep them soft, but that is a very messy prospect.
There are many over the counter creams that say for severely dry and cracked hands that could work in the same way. I myself use Eucerin creme for severely dry and cracked hands, and put tons of it on at night with cotton gloves. That usually does the trick for me, and it's less messy because the creme eventually sinks in.
If it's really bad, you could go to a dermatologist for advice, and maybe a prescription for something stronger.

I have some winters the same problem and I use a really thick lotion, like nivea. before you go to bed, put a thick layer on your hands, put some gloves over it, and the next day your hands will be soft, do that a few nights, and your hands should be as smooth as a baby's bottom....:o)

Take a small packet of sugar and a small amount of lotion and rub into your hands for about a minute. Rinse well, then apply the lotion you used by itself... You will be amazed at how soft your hands feel. â¥
Do I sound like a commercial now? LOL, But really try it!

well you say lotions don't work... it's a little silly.. but vaseline and gloves at night may work... just because vaseline and socks works to keep your feet soft...

Lubriderm... it is the only thing that has ever helped my hands... plus you might want to look into taking something internally. like a vitamin or a herbal supplement... so many skin problems are brought on by something we are lacking internally. hormonal in balance could also be a contributing factor. i kid you not.
