Yeah, my stepdad was a young Military man and he took sh*t waaaaayyy out of hand sometimes. He used to beat us like that too, every chance he could and over dumb stuff. I remember one time he beat me for something my brothers did! It didnt help that he had this leather belt with like indentations in it, so when it hit you, not only did you welt up from the mark of the belt, you'd have like 2 xtra welts from the lines in the belt!!! c*cksucker! he was the same one that sexually abused me.

oh and you're wrong Suda, a beating and abuse are two totally different things. whether abuse is emotional, physical or otherwise, its abuse. Some people dont know the difference between disciplining and abusing

Yes, but it was my mother who abused me, emotionally, physically and mentally. My dad just didn't care. Then, when I was 9, my dad's male cousin sexually molested me. It has taken a lifetime to come to terms with it all and I still struggle with it. BUT!!!! I'm a terrific person now and love who I've become. Just a side note: Abuse is a common occurence, learn to recognize the signs with people you know. Thank goodness we no longer live in the dark ages where a victim is lead to believe it is their fault and it is not ok to keep secrets!

My stepfather would get drunk and hit my brother and me for no reason, or if our room wasn't clean enough. He once strangled me and left marks on my neck. My school called child services(social worker), but since he worked for NY State Corrections, nobody bothered him about it. I grew up ok, now that I am an adult. But I have a bad temper from holding in all that pain, and don't even liek getting touched by another guy, whether it's a frind or relative. I just tense up.

I was not abused. I was neglected. I think I would have rather been abused. I would have at least gotten some form of attention. That's probably why I acted out so much. Al the attention. **sigh** I'll never ignore or hit my kids! EVER!

My parents never hurt me but my cousin did molest me, it went on for years. I never talked because I was scared. Even now at 20 the only people who know are my boyfriend and 2 close friends. I'm scared of what could happen if family knew.

I was sexually abused by 3 different men when I was a kid.

By the time I was 13 I'd figured it out though. They make one move towards you and you let them know straight up that you are telling - they leave you alone in a hurry.

Sorry mother fu**ers.

well, i think people just mistake punishment for abuse. I mean i used to get whipped if i did something wrong. So as a kid, you start to learn that bad = whip. But if your parents just came up to you and smaked the crap out of you, then that is definitely abuse, if you didn't do anything wrong.

Yeah! MY dad did but now all I could do is forgive him. I think he knew he was a crappy dad! He is trying to be better to my kids now.

That's called beating. Abuse largely means sexual abuse. And yes I was.
