i havent taken it apart, but im good with tools and i figured maybe a soldering gun would fix it

If you know someone that has a degree in electrical engineering, then yes. Otherwise no.

You can probably by a new circuit board from the manufacturer and replace the whole board but fixing the existing circuit board requires experience and tools that you probably don't have

Who knows?????

Unless you have a lot of test equipment, and electrical/electronic knowledge then I would say no.

You can take it apart and do a visual inspection, if you can see the problem then you should be able to repair it.

My receiver was about 20+ years old, I just went to Home Depot and bought another receiver and installed it. It also came with new transmitters too.
