They both had comparable numbers in the Series but without Lowell the Sox never get to the series.

I think Lowell has more RBI's than Jacoby. There may also have been a little bit of a handout, seeing how Lowell might have played his last game with the Red Sox (hopefully not), and Ellsbury is a rookie--he'll have his MVP some year down the road, I'm sure.

Jacoby started all 4 of the world series games. He should have won the MVP for the world series. 4 for 5 in one game with 3 doubles. That is hard for a seasoned player but done by a rookie.

I thought the same thing, but Lowell did have a good series, and I also think it is because they knew he isn't going to get the season MVP, so they gave him the WS MVP instead. It's not like he doesn't deserve it anyway.
EDIT: Did the guy a couple below me really say the 'Sox-loving Fox broadcasters'??? Was he listening to the same broadcasters we were, and have been since 2003? How ignorant...

Ellsbury didn't even play the whole series, only 2 games out of 4.

Because he's a leader on the Sox and Ellsbury is just a rookie.

I was wondering the same thing...I mean, not that he is bad...He's good...but I was thinking, gee...Jason Varitek had the most Red Sox RBIs during the Series...What about Papelbon bailing out the starting pitching so many times(specifically, Dice K and Wakefield)? Or Drew's grand slam?...Or Youkilis?...Beckett is most definitely getting the Cy Young, so I didn't think he would be MVP...

Because David Ortiz was too fat to fit on the stage, Josh Beckett is too dumb to give a good acceptance speech, Manny Ramirez had already left the park for who-knows-where, and nobody wants to hear Curt Schilling talk, not even the Sox-loving Fox broadcasters.
