What about Georgette? It might be better for Georgie to have a proper given name to fall back on as an adult, but she could always be called Georgie in everyday life - it's not that different from Georgette, Georgia, or Georgine on the birth certificate.
Still, Georgie-Rose seems proper enough for me - the hyphen makes it tons better than just Georgie! (Which, by the way, is such a cute name.)
And one of my cousins in just Jenny, and she doesn't mind it too much - sometimes she gets a bit miffed when people who don't know her call her Jennifer or something, but usually it's alright!
Good luck and congrats with Georgie!

I like the combination. It "sounds", if you know what I mean. And you don't have to give her a "proper" name. In fact, Georgia and Georgina make me think of skinny headmistresses with pointy noses, whereas Georgie is a much sweeter name.

Christen her Georgie Rose if you want. It is a proper name! And a beautiful one too. Congratualtions when the time comes.

Georgie-Rose is pretty and at least you weren't trying to be "unique and trendy or original" and name the poor child Georgia Peach! Name her this, and it will also honor her father in that his name is Danny and not Daniel. Who is to say that Danny isn't proper, it is if it is a given name. My name is Cindy not Jacinda, Lucinda or God forbid Cynthia (yuck btw!).

I think that Georgia Rose or Rosa as an unhyphenated first name and then Daniella as a second name would fit the bill and I like you find shortenings or nicknames as given names very annoying (a friend of mine was christened Freddy!!, we always chided him for what a prat he must feel).

Giving her a 'male' name kind of restricts her why not call her Georgia-Rose which sounds lovely. Would the Grandads in question want their lovely rose called George?
Good luck xx

usually the names people suggest on here are horrible, chavvy and/or downright weird. This is one of the only nice ones I've seen. If you're worried about it not being a proper name the how about having Rose as her middle name - then call her whatever you want when you speak to her or about her! Well done for choosing a nice normal sounding name!
