It depends on who is the President. Some pay more attenton to the staff in the Executive Officer of the President and some give greater weight to the opinions of Federal department heads.

not really sure what you're trying for in this question. As for most recent presidents, I would say they rely on their friends whom they have known for years and have put them in posistions of power, I would say they do rely on them more than cabinet members

I wouldn't know since a) there's only one "current President" and b) I don't know him or any recent Presidents personally.

If you're talking about GWB, I would say he doesn't listen to anyone.

If you're talking about Clinton, I would say he listened to his Cabinet members.

If you're talking about GHWB, I would say he listened to his lobbyists.

I would say Reagan listened to his Cabinet.

It would mostly depend on the person as to who they listened to.
