He drinks soda NON-stop. Always fried food, sweets.
He's 30. I'm 20, he's a fireman and he's not too over-weight, yet. I love him regardless, but I'm worried about him.
I ask him to down some water, cook him veggies. But he just says no to the water, and will just snack junk food later. We're building a house and he swears that he'll start working out when we finish. Should I just get used to it? I don't want him teaching these bad habits to our kids... I worry. Help me.

P.S. I'm not a health freak or anything.

Okay I can't tell him he can't buy snacks... I don't buy them, but that doesn't mean he won't. I'm not his mom.

Okay, the first thing is he is not going to change over night. So ease the veggies in. It took my wife 7 years before I would some veggies. I do not like drinking plain water. Its boring, I would rather have ice tea.
I will tell from experience, the fried foods do not go away, but slowly start to change eating habits. Do not buy "healthy" foods only. It will discourage him. My wife eased in more salt free chips and eventually I ate less.

Try telling him that it is time for his annual check up with the doctor. Then call the doctors office ahead of time and confidentially tell them (you can not ask a question, breaks privacy laws, but you can ask a question or give advise) tell them that you are worried about his cholesterol, and triglycerides. Hopefully the doctor will run the blood work on these and it will tell if he is still happy. You may even throw in that your concerned about the sugar. I think that he is a grown man. If his test are normal than let him eat what ever he wants. When you get his age you may see that time changes people. best of luck with your hungry hubby. LOL!

Don't buy the food, and he won't eat it.

Give him another year or two, by age 35, he'll gain 20 pounds from his lifestyle.

If he buys the food, keep it in a box in a closet -- tell him you don't want it around. Then, tell him again you don't want it in the house, and throw it away if he brings it home . . . it's poison.

Try starting slowly . . . Popcorn and nuts are better than chips and pretzels. But eventually put your foot down.

Tell him you don't want to be tempted . . .and throw it away.

Don't buy junk food for him buy healthy food and it is good for your husband to stay fit and if he doesn't then to bad if there is not junk food then he can't eat for buy food that is low in fat. this will help to like for instance meat buy lean me cut the fat and give it to him tell him you are going to start working out and you want him todo it with and if all this fails where a very sexy dress walk in front of him and tell him you like and tell him he is not going to get any of it until he gets on a diet and I assure you he will

i say cook everything for him. maybe the veggies are nasty to him. try to spice them up. like put it with baked chicken breast. find some good healthy recipes. i know a good chef you can find on foodnetwork.com, her name is ellie kreiger. also give him healthy snacks in his lunch to work. that way when he does want junk he has to go out and get it, it won't be in the house and he'll eat it less often. don't pressure him to exercise it'll only make it worse.

fill the fridge with good food and good snacks. try some protein snacks and shakes with soy milk. have cut veggies in the fridge for easy access. and plenty of water. try to make the water with slices of lemon in them for a little flavor to get him somewhat interested in the plain taste.

Simply tell him that unless he eats properly, you are going to take a large life insurance policy on him.

He is setting himself up to get diabetes.
Have him check into some of the problems he will get.
There is ONE problem that should make him change his eating habit!
