So, i got some of my general classes done that I needed to take. I then became pregnant and was not able to go back last semester. I am going back in Januarry but I am unsure on what to do. Having a newborn is hard work but school is important. It just dont come easy to me. Ivy Tech Community College is where i attend. Thet have both LPN & RN degrees that are offered. I am unsure if I should do the LPN and then do the transition into RN or should I just go straight thru to the RN program? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, i looked into Medical Assistant. Any feedback on that would be great! Thanks alot!!

Don't be confused. Go straight for RN. Its harder to go back when you have a family and other things going on. Take it from someone who knows the struggle. Go for the long run (and the money AND the respect AND more options!!

RNs are serious, well-trained and well-paid professionals, so becoming one should be your goal. However, given your situation, and if you're sure you can do the bridge program, then starting out in the LPN program would seem to be an appropriate course to follow.

It would be probably be best to start in the RN program, trust me know , I have two kids, sometimes its tempting to go into something that offers money quickly, cause you want to be able to take of your kids, but dont fall for it. The Medical Assistant and LPN program may be faster, but you will have more room for advancement as an RN. Stick with it and dont give up.

Go straight to the RN. You will have more options for work and be paid more. If you became an LPN you would be working and trying to finish school later to become an RN.

Go for the RN now. RN's have more job options, get paid more and are able to advance faster.

An LPN is pretty much just a helper, like a cna. An RN is someone who took 4 years of college and will be hired for a lot more repsonsibilty and money. MA is for office work - again, little money.
