College = High Debt
No College = Hard Work
I never attended college, but had to work my way up through the ranks. Now I make more money then my colleges who attended college. However I missed a lot of opportunities climbing that ladder.
If you are happy where you are at, stay. If you want to continue to climb, then you may consider college.
You may consider gig with a consulting company and work off your experience and your education.
Good Luck.

College dimploma or higher education degree does not always get you the job, however, ti shows the employer that you are specialised in that area. While doing the degree you are put into work placements so you still get work experience.
Some people get the diploma/degree from working for a company. You dont always have to go to college or uni.
If someone was going to get a diploma/degree while in a work placement, that oerson would have to go to college or uni a few times a week.
If your one of the lucky ones that does manage to get promoted then there is no need to go to college and/or uni. Some jobs dont have very good promotion prespects though, so having the degree in that subject area would be an advantage, it would have the power to put you higher up the promotion line even if the chances of promotion are slim.
Also, the person with the degree would have a far better chance of getting the job over someone who doesnt have a degree. Even if that person has had 10+ year experience. Its happened to me a few times, which is why im now doing a hgher education course to get a degree. Im 29 and wish i did it when i was younger.
personally i do think its wise to have an education behind you just incase something goes wrong. Higher education can be fun though, there are plenty of evening classes you could do outside of the working hours.
Anyways...college or uni is not always important, i think its all down to your own individual needs and goals.
Good luck!

A degree may not be a necessity, but there's a reason getting one is strongly encouraged. You've built a good reputation for yourself at this company, but think about what happens if you need to switch jobs a few years down the road for some reason. By that time, your friends will have experience in addition to their education. Even if it isn't as much as yours, it may be of better quality because the degree will have allowed them to gain promotions more quickly. And some companies won't get around to making the comparison, because they won't pay attention to a resume that doesn't have any college education on it. Do what you think is best for you - which may or may not include a college degree - but always plan ahead.

Hey, good for you. Most jobs right out of college don't pay that great but the true comparision is at about 10 years out. Chances are that in 10 years, your friends with degrees will be making more than you even with all of your experience. Will your company pay for you to go at night and get your degree? That way you will have the best of both worlds...good luck.

Some kind of education after high school is always good to have. Whether it is college or vocational training. Some day, you may be up for a promotion and have to have the "degree". So I suggest you go to college at night taking a couple of classes a semester until you get a degree.

Bill Gates didn't finish school, Einstein didn't have a degree, but most people are not brilliant enough to figure it out on their own. Congrats, you are doing well within your company, but look outside and your capabilities are limited without a degree. You probably worked really hard to get to a place that someone who has a degree could simply get right away. There are plenty of exceptions, but we're talking about a general trend. I have a friend who works in a technical field without a degree and he tells me that he has to fight everyday because he is easy to replace with someone else.

Sounds like you're doing well. I would stick with the job you have now. If you want to change your job to something completely different, then I would say you'd have to go back to school. If you were just going to get a job with a different company, but for the same position, then you should be alright.

Ha! I hear the same thing. So far I've seem my college cousins/friends work a part time job, meanwhile, I'm working a good paying full time job with full benifits. I guess it just depends on how motivated you are to trying to better yourself. Also, the job market around you matters as well. Personally, I have no intention on going to college now, there's no need.

obviously you are a very intelligent person. It's possible that with your skills you could get even a higher wage with a college degree....
And then again... think how your friends with degrees would have wound up at McDonalds if they hadn't got a degree..... seeing that they make less than you....

experience is everything. what good is a degree without real experience?
BUT
when you get up to the higher senior jobs , they will promote the one with experience AND a degree over the one with just experience
