I know what was missing...the stupid blue dot on the ball and a fire red streak behind it when someone hits it hard. Like Fox did to the puck when it tried to air hockey games a few years ago. Lame. I hate Fox.

My impression is that any time you have Joe Buck and Tim McCarver calling a game, you should be prepared to turn the volume off on your TV. McCarver has no idea when to shut up, he doesn't understand what certain words mean, and he thinks he was the greatest catcher of all time. Seriously, check out the Fire Joe Morgan site and see some of his classic blunders.
As for the in-studio crew, Jeanne Zelasko might be the worst sports host currently on the major networks. She sounds like she's screaming half the time, and I'm really not sure that she understands baseball. Kevin Kennedy is in the studio, too, apparently to quote as many baseball cliches as he can in his time on camera.
Overall, I'd give them an F, but that might be too high.

They made TBS look good. McCarver and Buck are over and FOX has no idea how to show a game. At least TBS broadcasted all of the games in HD. In the Chicago area, game four wasnt even in HD. That is disgusting. FOX and their sports broadcasts have sucked for the last few years.

FOX did very well. I thought compromising the integrity of what was a close World Series game in the late innings with something as remarkably vital as a player from a team long eliminated from the postseason declaring free agency was incredibly important.
I personally had no interest whatsoever in the dramatic interludes of some dumb baseball game, so making Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees the centerpiece of a late inning nailbiter with a World Series championship on the line for one of the teams involved was a stroke of genius, really.
Kudos, FOX baseball coverage.

I like Joe Buck...he is a neutral commentator however Tim McCarver is the MLB Madden always states the obvious he needs to go!!!
What I think was missing was the fact that Boston was so dominating that there was not much excitement in terms of the broadcasters perspective....If the series was close and I mean close then they would have had more energy more spark in their voices.... There were was NO DRAMA IN THIS SERIES AT ALL....PRETTY MUCH CUT AND DRY AND RED SOX FANS THIS IS NOT A KNOCK ON THE SOX AT ALL.BOSTON TOOK THE SERIES IN 4 AND THEY WERE CLEARLY THE BETTER TEAM AND DESERVED TO WIN!!!!

No matter who would have broadcast it,the games were just too damn long!
1 and a half hours for 2 innings? Bull!
pitchers, quit thinking, just throw the freakin' ball.
About two ago in the Eastern league, a rule was passed-- batters had to keep at least one foot in the batters box during their entire at-bat. No stepping out, delaying the game. i think it's time the majors adopted trhe same rule.
Unofficially, it cuts the game by about ten minutes. Then the play by play people can tell us what's happening, not what they think should be happening.

Actually, I thought it was at least decent, especially after the atrocious job that TBS did. I realize that they're trying to balance the broadcast to both baseball fans and casual viewers at the same time. They need a decent audience to keep these on free TV so I'm fine it. I could do without the excessive crowd shots though

i think tim mccarver says some of the most obvious things ever uttered during a sports broadcast. and his keys to the game are ridiculous. he says sh*t like the rockies must win the game. thats not a key to a game. a key to the game would be something like moving on the basepaths or getting the opposing starter out of the game

I thought Tim McCarver was going to kiss Joe Buck during the pregame the way he kept looking right into his face when Buck would speak.

The actual production, and the guys in the back producing it was off the charts, in my opinion. As for those who commentate and analyze it, there's a definite need for improvement.
