I have some friends coming into Phoenix this weekend. I am new to the area myself and not sure where to take them. Any suggestions? We are 25 years old and live in Tempe.

When we used to live there, we enjoyed hiking in the White Tank Mountains, there are many easy trails and one easy one that leads up to a waterfall. On the way, there are markings from old Indian tribes (I forget what those are called). Anyway, it's really nice, especially this time of year.
There's a zoo out that way (west) too, that's REALLY nice and you get up close to the animals more so than other zoos. Plus it's small, so you're not so burnt out at the end. It's worth the trip.
The big Phoenix Mall (in Tempe) is nice too, many little stores to shop to get "desert" gifts and trinkets.
Haven't been there in awhile though, I'm sure I'm forgetting alot of stuff.

Depending what your into, there are plenty of hiking trails, Sedona is a nice day trip, the Grand Canyon can be a day trip, there's Goldfield Ghost Town, Tempe Town Lake, lots of shopping in Scottsdale, Wild Life World Zoo, tons of clubs and lots of places to eat and the state fair is going on.

Wrigley mansion at Biltmore Hotel (Frank Llyod Wright design) (Gammage another FLW design) nice drive along lincoln drive to see skyline... of phx. tempe town lake cool place downtown walk about Mill Ave.

The grand canyon is a few hours away. The weather may be very good at this time of the year.

When I was there visiting my brother he took us to climb Camelback Mountain. It was pretty cool. It's an awesome place to take pictures.
