I hate to say this, but I don't. There are a lot of people that do, and it would wonderful if fortune tellers were real (as in having supernatural powers, etc) but they're not.

Most fortune tellers rely on a trick known as cold reading. Anyone can do it, in fact, that's what I do for fun whenever I go to family gatherings or one of my husband's workplace parties. Everyone has a lot of fun and is amazed that I have such a "gift," but I tell them that the real gift is being very, very observant and knowing how to read body language.

Yes i have belief that some gifted people can tell your fortune. I have had mine done several times and have been in awe at some of the results. Some readings are very accurate but i guess some can also be fake. What i don't agree with is the extortionate rates that some psychics charge, especially those companies.
I believe in the Tarot because i have a deck of cards that i read for myself. When I'm feeling confused I find i get clarity and direction from my cards. We are all supposed to have a psychic ability. x

Yes

But what people fail to realize is that when a reading is done it is based on how things currently are if you continue on your current path. SO if you change your path, then the end result for the fortune could very well change.

Readings were meant as a means to help you with your life path, to let you know of the dangers you may be in due to your current choices/actions, and give you a heads up so you can change if you want to avoid a less than desirable outcome of your current path, or do nothing if it is a desirable outcome.

I would not use the term fortune teller, even though there are some that will pay some one for telling them they will be rich etc, where as I am clairvoyant ,which to me is different all together.

People obviously believe in fortune telling -- it is a business that makes money because of this. If people didn't believe in it, you wouldn't see any Fortune Telling shops.

Plenty of people have spent a lot of effort debunking fortune telling, proving again and again that it is nothing more than a skill at reading people and their reactions. These people have shown that good fortune telling relies upon a mix of spying on or researching clients prior to the session, reading responses based on reactions, and statistically probable guessing.

i do. i can use tarot cards, and know lots of people who do as well,
the trick is finding someone if you don't.
most people who you have to pay to get your "fortune telling" from are frauds and are only telling you what they think you want to hear.
another one of the problems is that if whoever is doing it isn't very good themselves or focused or you are focused on only hearing one thing then the results are going to reflect that.

No, they're a complete hoax. There may be some possibilities for other potential psychic abilities like "far seeing" but precognition and telekinetics have proven to be false.
