me!!! and i'm just 23 okay... i guess some people these days have substituted the word gorgeous with "hot". But i have always used gorgeous as it's more humanly...I believe that true gentlemen should use the term gorgeous instead of hot (beautiful is so generic a word and boring too)...it's just more flattering that way... and i also have a thing with men who's able to use just the right word for the right thing and moment ;-)

It is a wonderful word with the world these days it is no wonder that such a beautiful word has not entered the vernacular of young people these days. I am only 45 years old and I tend to use it a lot

Maybe I am old at 38, but I had no idea that the word gorgeous was on the outs. I call my wife gorgeous all the time.
Take care,
Troy

A lot of people use it: it's not an uncommon word. Maybe you don't hear younger people use it anymore, but how broad of a segment of the population do you really think the people you know represent? Perhaps you ought to not generalize so much.

Are you saying there is something wrong with the word gorgeous? I don't think that word will ever be out of style.

It's probably not as common as it once was. Actually, I doubt it was ever a very common word. It is probably more of a fad word that goes in and our of fashion. Dictionary.com says it's been around since about 1500, so I think it's just that we're not in a time period when it's in very common usage.

Ahhhh, we old people just like to correct you when you say "then" instead of "than." Makes us feel superior and knowledgeable. We don't need much in our dotage, just a truckload of meds served up by a gorgeous nurse in a tight white nurse's outfit.

I call my wife gorgeous all the time. And we're not even middle aged yet. Why do I call her that? Because she is in fact, gorgeous. Innocent. Graceful. And beautiful.
