Is it really that hard for people? If you don't like the content, don't go see it..don't read it. Americans should practice self censorship, not decide what is appropriate for the masses.

Well, they always have to have a "cause." I find it sort of funny that they are complaining the movie doesn't have the theme of atheism because kids will want the books even more, and the atheists are complaining the movie was white washed in order not to offend the religious minded. Nobody's happy. And that means this movie will be a huge hit, along with the books.

The only censoring the religious will be able to accomplish is in their own homes when it comes to their children reading the books or seeing the movie, and that's how it should be. But yes, they will continue to make a huge deal about it. They've been languishing without a wedge issue beyond abortion. They aren't screaming much about homosexuality these days - too many examples of conservative homosexual hypocrites to point to. And Dumbledore is gay! That horse has left the barn, and there isn't much they can do about it but sneer at the author. But this presents a brand new cause they can get behind and they will do so enthusiastically.

I find it amusing that they are most upset that the parts of the movie they would have found offensive have been removed, or so they claim, had they been left in it would have been that that offended them, there's just no pleasing some people... don't they have a south park episode to complain about or something?

Perhaps you can regale me with the tales of previous censorship? I love a good fiction!

Just because they protest something that they claim is anti-Christian or anti-religion doesn't mean they are practicing "censorship".

Why do you have such a problem with their right to protest? You some kind of fascist?

They worry about the wrong things.

The Republicans need to worry about us getting out of Iraq, rather than some stupid kids book!

And what about the leftwing Christians? You know they claim they are Christians also so if they are in on it with the rightwing does that make it OK for them to do this? And why if you aren't a rightwing Christian fundy are you watching FOX?

As a conservative I don't believe this should be censored. I work with kids and they typically already have strong beliefs that won't be swayed...I do disagree with type of censorship dems try when they attack everything reps say on sites like this.
