Hate is a bad thing . This is true even when it is in the name of secularism or atheism.
1. Not all ministers are the same. Some of the best scholars throughout history have been religious people. In fact the first universities were religious institutions where things like mathematics and the philosophies of Plato and Aristotle were taught.
2. To this very day many colleges and universities are sponsored and partially funded by churches synagogues and mosques. MANY A STUDENT HAS STUDIED EVOLUTION AND THE BIG BANG ETC. IN RELIGIOUSLY SPONSORED UNIVERSITIES AND PRVATE SCHOOLS !!
I KNOW BECAUSE I AM ONE OF THEM!!
3. The people you are calling masters of fraud honestly belive that their religin is true even if you don't. A person can't be a master of fraud if they believe what they are saying themselves.
4. If you as an atheist are logical then you sould recognize that part of any analysis is gathering the facts. This is something you have clearly failed to do in your assessment.
5. I am sorry if it disturbs you that people still have religions . This has been the case for pretty much all of human history so you seem to be spiteful of MOST OF YOUR ANCESTORS GOING BACK TO BEFORE THE LAST ICE AGE!!
Why???
The reason these types of people are invited to speak is because they are SCHOLARS IN THEIR FIELD and since 80% of the U. S. population claims to believe in God they are not outside the mainstream YOU ARE.
If you are an atheist that is your choice and I welcome you to it. In this free nation we can all choose to worship or not to and should not be harassed for excercising our personal options.
I do want you to realize that your view IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW and that you must be as respectful of others right to be inspired even when you are not.

Yes there is - getting all worked up about the fact that a priest or minister mihgt be asked to speak at a graduation.
Especially when done by someone who fabricates that their beliefs are irrationally anti-science.

Billy Graham spoke at my graduation. I don't know if it had anything to do with it or not, but the communal prayers of blessings and protections are the only things I can think of why I'm not dead fifty times over.

Graduation ceremonies are fairly stupid, in and of themself...
Personally, I always enjoyed that special, magical moment the mailing tube containing the rag was unceremoniously delivered to my door.
