I used to a long time ago....however, my current neighborhood is not too bad....a few bad elements...but I don't foresee it becoming like South Central Cal. The cops here would not allow that to happen.

I remember when I was young (I'm 22, so this isn't too long ago) that we could leave all the bottom floor windows wide open, the front door unlocked (and open on hot nights) without ever worrying about anything happening. I miss them days.
Today, crazy people are all around. Keep the windows and doors locked, curtains closed, a baseball bat next to the door and always strapped, even at school. It's not all a bad place just certain areas.

I live in a relatively urban area and our neighborhood has changed little in the last 30 years. It is still quiet and relatively crime free.

I cant believe it. This neighborhood is going down the tubes so friggin fast. Drugs are ruining this country. DRUGS are the root of all problems.

It's still nice, quiet, and crime free. Ann Arbor, where I am, is even considered a sanctuary city.

I'm not sure where you are living. Perhaps you should relocate then. My community is quiet and safe inside its walls. There are garages to keep cars in. There is no crime per year in my community. I believe this reflects most communites in America today.
