Should we refurbish old buildings such as Mills to avoid knocing down more trees to build new communities/business? What are the the financial and environmental benefits?

Reuse of resources benefits the environment in many ways.
1. No new trees are cut down, steel is smelted or other finite resources used.
2. Lower energy costs than new construction.
3. Preservation of historical character and spaces.
4. Shorter time to occupancy than most new construction.

The answer is yes we should re-use not build new whenever possible.
