Just like ALL prophesies, so vaguely written that they can be applied to anything.
Then the medium, prophet, priest, minister, rabbi, mullah or other types of con-men can say "See? I was right."

No as there is now specific date or place or time or name mentioned. so there fore are not true prophecies.
because his writings were random and the modern world is fitting them to things that have already happened ,
Real prophecies will give all information that is specific to an event and then come true.
Eg: in Nostradamus' writings he mentions a name hister and modern historians say that this really means Hitler so this prophecy details the prophecy of Hitler and the Holocaust.
or a man from the east is very general writings.
Some of the writings are amazing when they mention the modern world for a guy living in the times of Nostradamus. But no great profit.

I watched the History Channel special on Nostradamus and I must admit I was pretty shocked by some of his predicitions. However, I also believe some of his writings were very general and could apply to any situation...

No. He was nothing more than a bad poet with a paranoid streak. Some people say that he actually predicted 9/11 by mentioning "the new city" but in his wittings he was actually talking about Naples. If you observe how people actually manipulate his writing you can see how they can make it say whatever they want. (Example: changing letters, reversing words and flipping words around completely so that they sort of look like what you want them too.)

I think it's fascinating, but a bunch of crap. A lot of people look at the scriptures and majestically compare these prophecies to disasterous events of the past, such as 9/11, but to be frank, anyone can write a book with broad generalized disaster prophecies and be considered a prophet.
Anyway, it's all about how you want to look at it. I don't believe any of that stuff is worth even bothering with.

properly positioned it this way. assume which you wakened this morning with visions of the destiny. you presently understand the actuality approximately each little thing that took place interior the previous and all which will ensue on a great scale for the subsequent thousand years on the completed planet. You working example ought to establish the numerous political errors made by ability of governments and their consequences. What do you think of you should declare approximately them ? assume you have been residing in a communist united states. assume you have been residing on your actually united states. Do you think of you should bypass around attempting to point out their errors to them? provided which you had a loss of life wish. could they hear to you? Dream on! at the start this type of view could at present teach you extra proper. you're able to comprehend that as quickly as one pushes against something, one attracts extra of it. it quite is type of a poker participant with a nasty hand constantly bluffing different poker gamers with undesirable hands. interior the tip, even nevertheless he ought to win the ordinary pot, he loses each little thing which consists of his shirt. My opinion is that Nostradamus could have had to be cryptic, no longer in basic terms simply by inherent probability in telling what he observed, yet he could easily comprehend the futility of pushing against. Why did he write something? so as which you and others ought to at it slow ask your question. so as which you should question your programming. so as which you're able to make the attempt to awaken. it quite is all a loving being can do for others.

2012 is suppose to be the last day we have on this earth.
however, recently they changed that and gave us another 18 years give or take a few.
I have read his books and found that according to his writings Hollywood was suppose to come crashing down around its ears in the 70's, but its alive and well.
California was suppose to fall in the water and yet still here.

his predictions were written so vague that when people read them the predictions could be made to fit many different circumstances and times giving a false validity of truth.

It's interesting stuff, however I find it pretty odd that people can only interpret his prophecies AFTER the "prophecy" occurs.
