I live in NC and our drought is about as severe as Georgia's although we got some rain last week. Many locations here have been on mandatory water restrictions for some time now. That limits lawn watering, car washing and such at residences. Restaurants serve water only upon request. Some schools have gone to using paper plates/cups so they don't have to wash them. Many businesses have also invested in rain barrels to catch what rain we do get and recycle it; this is especially true for nurseries.

I am on a well, but still worried and want to do my part, so my showers are quicker, I turn off the water when brushing teeth, flush only when necessary, etc.

I live in Atlanta and beside adhering to the watering ban I don't think people are really doing much. I don't think the restaurants here are affected by this at all. We really need rain.

While the real answer would be to drop a few nukes and eliminate a good deal of the population, they actually ARE taking serious steps:

1. Cutting back on the amount of water they add to their bourbon.
2. Pushing the flush handle only halfway down
3. Watering their lawns only on days with a "y"
4. Chewing less tobacco
5. Using unlubricated condoms

Well I live in Metro Atlanta and all we can do is hope for rain. Take shorter showers, and do a rain dance is all I can think of at the moment
