It seems so coordinated, and over such a large area, that it had to be started by a well organized group of people. Does anyone else think it's a huge coincidence that these fires started a few days after Osama Bin Laden released not one but two tapes, the last in which he criticized his followers for not being organized and more? Who else would have a reason to want to burn California?

Anything is possible, but if the "truth" is being hidden, I doubt that it would be the media. They'd jump all over that! It would be the government hiding it.

That being said, anytime you have tinderbox conditions like they get in California this time of year, you will always have "pyromaniacs" who get their jollies by setting fires. That is not new and just as likely as it being a terrorist activity.

Most of the fires were started by high winds blowing dried-out foilage into power lines or knocking down power lines into overgrown areas of brush. Two were arson fires. One at Lake Arrowhead and the other in Santiago Canyon in Orange County. Wildfires are a regular occurence in the western U.S. and that has been so for centuries. I myself fought the Telega Canyon fire in the early 1960s which spread into five counties and almost jumped the border into Mexico. The difference is that fire happened before we crammed 39 million people into California and had housing areas move into the foothills and tree lines.
Those winds kick up about three times a year. On my side of the Sierra Nevada range it's known as the "Siberian Express" because the jet stream shifts from an east to west direction into a north-south path west of the Rockies, bringing in cold air from the Gulf of Alaska. When those winds cross the Sierra Nevada they are dried out and become santa ana winds.
That's the end of my meteorology and geography lesson. You can now go back and continue with your game of coincidence called "connect the dots".

Yawn.

California has a natural environment that burns, and has ever since the last Ice Age.

There have been fires burning in remote areas all summer, jsut like every summer.

Then, like every October, which is the last month before it starts raining again, and when everything is dry, stuff manages to ignite in a variety of ways.

Just like the last 700,000 Octobers.

killing 14 people and destroying 1400 homes would not be a target of terrorists. A terrorists would want to make a much more specific and damaging statement. While I feel for the people who lost lives and homes in the fires. The burning of hundreds of thousands of acres of California forest does not put terror in my heart.

I believe if Muslims extremists were caught in the act, the press wouldn't tell us. But IF a Christian, or so called Christian did it, there would be riots in the streets.
