Someone else suggested Avon and Tupperware. They can be good options if you want to put ALOT of work into building a loyal client base. If you don't work extremely hard for the first 5 - 6 years and develop the client base, you will probably just lose money. My wife is 8 years into Avon an is just now starting to show profits consistently. There are alot more Avon ladies than you think.
What types of things do you like to do? I run a power washing company. I started out just washing my own stuff. Then I realized with the right equipment, I could do commercial work and residential jobs and actually make decent money. It took a while to save for the right equipment ( a little over $12,000) but now I have it and it helps me to be more profitable.
My point is - I was already doing something for myself and not thinking twice about the possibility of making money at it. Look for possibilities that really interest you. If you like rearranging your furniture and picking out room colors, and you have any eye at all for organization, try offering a decorating service that does the job in one day. You would be using mostly what they already have and bringing in a few key pieces, adding some flair and making it functional. And you get paid!!! The only thing you really have tied up in the project is time.
Most legitimate opportunities will entail some cost, but with a little imagination you can come up with something that falls within your budget. These days, with a cell phone and a business card you can be in business.
A couple other possible idea:
Personal shopper for people who can't or don't want to shop for themselves. ( I do your shopping every Friday afternoon, in return you pay me $XX per month. You could offer weekly, but why not try to lock in future business?)
Personal concierge service (setting up doctor and dentist appointments, making reservations, making travel reservations, getting event tickets, etc., etc., etc.) Pretty much the same as a personal shopper, but you collect your monthly income regardless of whether or not they use your service. Draw up a contract that way. If they use your service, they pay any and all expenses as well as your monthly service. Implement step pricing to deter the people that want to overwhelm you for a low price. X number of uses is $X, and go up from there based on the PITA factor.
Party planner/Event Organizer - They pay you up front and then they pay all the bills too. But, you need to be highly organized and in tune with what is fashionable and trendy.

Good luck!!

Hi Melissa. There are various ways that you can make money. Companies like Avon and Tupperware offer people the opportunity to make money from home. All you have to do is get people to buy the product . I think that its commission based. This is an effective way of making money as there is no capital needed. Many students find themselves grappling with trying to understand subjects at school. You could advertise that you are offering tuition in certain subjects and charge per hour.
