Looking for someone with experience writing a screenplay. I have worked on Wall Street for over 20 years, and have great stories to tell. I have been told many times to write it down but do not have the talent for it. Anyone that can help or provide tips?

Money is not a problem, thanks for pointing that out angry emeraldisle. I do have more to do than spew my anger on yahoo answers. I am asking an innocent question trying to get help.

You really don't need someone else to do it for you. There are steps to take to get things going on your own. If you really don't want to do it yourself, you can pitch the idea and if someone likes it they can buy it outright, but then you have no control over where it goes from there.

Write down what you have (it does not have to be in script form) and register it with WGA.org and the Library of Congress before telling anyone your idea. Without any experience you will likely not be able to get an agent, but you can attend an event like Pitchfest.

You can also get any number of books on screenwriting as well as auto-format script software like Final Draft. You can also look up examples, they're not hard to copy. Other writers will eventually rewrite your stuff and fix things anyway. You may want to start with simply writing your story down, not with writing a script.

Buddy, you sound like you're smoking some really good weed if you honestly believe that someone is going to help you with this. They would require a huge sum of money and even then, I don't think you would find them. In the first place, everyone has stories to tell. Unfortunately, if you have no talent for writing, then you either have to hire someone who does (again, very expensive for someone who knows what they are doing), or just forget the whole thing. I think for you, the latter is best. In addition, selling screenplays is very difficult and you need an agent and other connections in the business. You claim to have worked on Wall Street. What is it you do now, sit around dreaming of selling screenplays? Honestly, I would try another avenue.

A really great introductory to screenwriting is "Screenplay" by Syd Field. If you wanna talk anytime and bounce ideas around you can e-mail me. The e-mail is on my profile.

Due, hang in there. I see someone gave you useful information already. jerks like emeralisle amaze me. If they are not going to help why do they respond with their frustrated anger.
