How Fast Does Mail Travel

This depends on where the from and two addresses are. Generally mail to and from central urban areas will take one day. So actually mail from New York to LA will take one day. The more rural you get the more time it will take. So mail from a tiny little town in the hinterlands of the Adirondaks in New York may take several days to get to a tiny little town in the west part of New York state.

Generally it takes 1-2 days for first class mail in the US. But that is not official or guaranteed.

The only mail products where there is a time of delivery expectation, that I know of are Priority Mail (often similar to or the same as First Class Mail) and Express Mail. To my knowledge, the only guaranteed timing is Express Mail, and that timing depends on a lot of things, including where you are mailing from and two, and the like.

Note that a change of address on the receiving end can double expected mail times.
