i'm a sox fan, but i gotta say that i was bummed out at the lack of competition. i don't know if it was because the sox were so good, or the rockies were so bad. all i know is it would've been nice to not sweep them.

The red sox are amazing and totally deserved this win! They are a great team and have worked their butts off and done their best. There is nothing wrong w/that! They have the most amazing players I've seen in a long time.... i am so excited for them and everything that they have done! :) rockies suck and did absolutely terrible. we all knew the red sox would end up winning, and win they did! they are 2007 world series champs, and i'm sorry but you cant take that away from them! they deserved this like any other team =)

No, I don't agree. The Red Sox were the best team and deserved the win. The Rockies deserved to represent the NL. Why? Because they each won a best of 5 and best of 7 series to get to the world series. That format alone will filter out "fluke" teams and ensure the teams in the World Series are the most deserving.
The Red Sox beat the Rockies in a best of seven series and proved that they are the best team in baseball.

I understand your point, but you're flat out wrong, sorry. The Rockies got hot at the end of the season to make the playoffs, but because of the playoff format they would have been eliminated if they weren't that good.

Now, if you want to make the argument that compared to the AL teams the Rockies were inferior, you may have a point... they possibly were only the 5th or 6th best team in baseball.

They won 21 out of 22 games. That is pretty good (except for beating the Padres (damn ump))! Then they had eight days off. That really hurt them. But yeah they should have been able to play a little bit better and win at least one game. It should have been the Padres we had that one game! Rockies had their strength time and went on their losing streak. The Red Sox played well though. I like it when each team has won 3 games and it comes down to the 7th game to determine the winner.

They deserved to be there. I am not a Sox fan at all, but come on, they were tied for the best record in baseball, they were in first place in there division for almost the entire season, and they beat formidable opponents in the playoffs. They did deserve to win. Even though the ROckies might nto have been as strong as the Sox, the Sox had to play 162 games like everyone else, plus win 3 playoff series.

The Red Sox destroyed the Rockies, they were a much better team. They beat the Angels and Indians who both had great records, give it up Red Sox are the best team in baseball right now.

If you mean the Rockies forgot to show up for the World Series, then you’re right. The Rockies gave them the Series, and the Red Sox stepped up and took it!

So you're blaming the Red Sox for being so much better than any National League team? Is that what you're saying? I've got news for you. Any of the four American League teams that made the playoffs were better than any of the National League teams in the playoffs. It would have been the same results whether it had been the Indians, Yankees or Angels.

The Red Sox absolutely earned their championship! Frankly your statement is about as lame as they come.

The Rockies barely scored because of the Sox pitching.
This is professional sports honey - there are no style points. Whether they beat an opponent that was playing well or playing poorly does not diminish the fact that they won.
Get a clue.

yeah ok, the dumbest statement on yahoo today...
didnt have the "competition???" yeah ok,..thats why the sox had held first place from DAY ONE...yet,...they didnt earn the win.
I wont even waste time on this one, as you know how dumb the question is to begin with, get a clue.
the sox outplayed the rockies...every game,..out hit , out pitched, ....there is no other way to look at it.
...the rockies did well to get to where they did...but were over powered period.
what a joke.
"AG"....Dumb comment, You should be able to come up with something better......(granted, ..the asker of this question is clueless, i doubt its cus she is a female....). I am female and more than likely have been watching sports long before you were born. So gender has nothing to do ignorance or knowledge!!

They did earn this win. Your a pore sport who hates the Sox. I'm sick of people like you. Just shut up and pretend to be a little smart.
They swept the Angels.
They came back from 3-1 against the Indians.
And then they swept the Rockies...a real hot team.
They earned all of this and you need to shut the hell up.
