what size shoe should i get?

weird question i know but.......im buying these clogs over the internet they only come in whole sizes not half..........so for example im really a size 81/2 so should i get a size 8 or 9? go up or down with clogs?

It's merely personal preference, but when I am faced with the shoe dilema you have, I go a half size up.
